Access to the San Isabel National Forest is just half mile away, providing hours of exploring by foot or rental horseback riding, ATV, and bicycling. Enjoy the natural beauty of this spot at 8500 feet and in the surrounding mountains where you may see wildlife including elk, deer, bear, fox, chipmunks and birds of many varieties. Then relax in our comfort designed house. This property is 1 1/2 hours from Colorado Springs Airport and 3 hours from the Denver area and Denver International Airport. Short trips [under 2 hours] might include: To the north: Antiques in Florence, Golf in Canon City, Rafting & Fishing in the Arkansas River, the incredible Royal Gorge Park or fun in Cripple Creek; To the south: Bishop's Castle, Paddle Boats or Fishing on San Isabel Lake; To the west: The charming town of Westcliffe for groceries and shops, hiking and exploring in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, wonderful shops and restaurants in Salida and Skiing at Monarch Ski Resort; To the east: Old Pueblo, The Garden of the Gods, fine Dining in Florence or Colorado Springs.
