I stayed three nights in May in a flat managed by the hotel, not in the hotel itself. The flats are on the main road through the historic town, opposite the Paços do Concelho. That is about 100m from the hotel. If you do not wish to carry your bags to the hotel when checking out you can agree with reception to leave the keys in the flat. Flat is large. Though in an old building the interior is completely modern. One of the two flats has a large terrace. If you stand on the terrace you have a good view of the bridge. The neighbouring buildings have adjacent terraces (you may be visited by a cat). To key-lock the street door you first need to push the door-handle up. The entrance door to the flat has a simple lock. The security lock on the door to the flat was misaligned and cannot be used. There is no safe. Hot water, shower, fridge, kettle, washing machine worked (but no laundry detergent, iron or ironing board); there is a rack for drying clothes. There is no equipment for making coffee apart from the kettle. If you are planning on cooking, note that no food consumables (oil, spices, ...) are provided. Wifi was weak in the living room and did not reach the bedroom or terrace. Thin curtains did not keep out the light.

We really loved this hotel. We had a lovely big room with a view over the gardens to the river. It was exceptionally clean and well fitted out. Our only minor point would be that there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast has a limited but good selection and you can order freshly cooked bacon, eggs, omelette etc. There was a garage to store our bikes which was useful. The hotel is a beautiful building right in the heart of the old town. We didn’t try out the bar or the pool table. Would definitely recommend staying here and it is fantastic value for money.

Instalações muito acolhedoras. Simpatia bem acima da média da funcionária que nos acolheu. Limpeza dos quartos impecável. Local extremamente calmo, junto ao rio. Salão de jogos e bar. Recomendado para quem visite Ponte da Barca.
