Ample parking nearby with a short walk to the establishment. Friendly staff met us at reception and showed us to our private room, which cost £50 to hire (historically was free). The charge was non-deductible from the final bill and we could use it for up to 3 hours. We decorated the room (allowed limited decoration). There was 8 in our party, but we were charged for 9. The food was good, with adequate privacy (soundproof). The total bill was £232.85.

The lack of fairness within the hotel is very noticeable when they have no time nor interest in their employee's with neuro diversity, the lack of help or training for employees with ADHD or Autism is non existent. Attitude is - to knock the confidence verbally in those employees who try their best for them.

The hotel looks fantastic with its new decor and upgrade but a few short comings. There was alot going on in the hotel today with staff spread thinly across the hotel so service suffered. The soup portion was measly and the bread was very thinly sliced and you need a good chunk of great with lentil soup. I finished the soup after 13 spoonfuls was very good but just not enough. The roast chicken was very good but the roast potatoes were cremated and despite being very good soaked in the gravy they were rock hard as were some of the other veg but very tasty. The chicken was on the bone but expected nice slices of juicy chicken but dumped in the gravy was fine. Reasonably priced too so great. I asked one of the staff for the bill waited 10 minutes and had to get up again and remind him again and he appologised. When a hotel is very busy it’s important to have enough staff to cover all the angles and areas so that customers don’t have to wait too long but the food is very good as long as you get it in a reasonable time. We will return.

Great hotel, great food, great staff. We stayed for 1 night in May. Room was very modern and the interior of the hotel is very tastefully decorated. Lovely breakfast choices. Very small car park so we were lucky to get parked but we had a great stay here and would highly recommend. The Cullen Skink is a must-try!

Went today to the “small plates and music “ event. It was a lovely afternoon with amazing food and live lovely singing and guitar playing by Gareth Bryant. One person who stood out was Olivia who was working in the main lounge, she was very attentive and helpful and seemed to be non stop making cocktails. Well done also to the rest of the team for their first class service ensuring all guests enjoy a first class experience.

Lovely lunch for my sisters birthday in the newly decorated Bar 19 I chose the vegetable kasmiri curry My sister had the sweet & sour chicken kebab both were delicious We then opted for sweets, I had the banoffi baked alaska my sister the duo of desserts which were also lovely We did have a good time to wait for our main courses but we were in no hurry The waitresses were friendly & will definitely recommend
