Hi, we’ve just got home after a wonderful 2 night stay in your beautiful hotel. All the staff were very helpful. The guy on reception who told us how to access the pool, the gardener who showed us the path to the coastal path and the waiting staff who explained what the ingredients were in a particular dish. The garden room restaurant was one of the best we’ve eaten in, the food was absolutely delicious, both breakfast and evening dinner. We stayed in the merry weather and it was superb, so quiet and relaxing on an afternoon sitting on the terrace enjoying a bottle of wine. We will definitely be back and we’ve already told family and friends about our stay. Thanks again Debbie and Michael x

It's a pity that on this occasion I was to stay just one night at The Grove, as my attendance at a funeral nearby had brought me to Cromer. I will certainly return for a longer stay, as I thought your hotel was superb. Five stars for everything: the building and its grounds; its accessibility to the cliff walk to Cromer via a lovely forest path; my room: charmingly furnished, comfortable, well equipped - good bed, good shower, toiletries, fluffy towels etc; an excellent dinner with excellent service; ditto for breakfast. And your staff are all delightful: friendly, helpful, efficient. My thanks them all.

The Grove, Cromer - Mrs Pages Cottages I stayed from the 23rd - 27th June 2025, and sadly this was a disappointing experience especially as it was my third time staying at hw what is advertised as 4 - star hotel. I was in Mrs Pages Cottages, which looked charming but the condition of the accommodation was poor. There were flies crawling up through the plug hole, peeling paint above the shower and mouldy tiles in the bathroom - all signs of poor upkeep and cleanliness. The bunk bed mattress was extremely uncomfortable, making sleep difficult - this was reported to reception who padded the mattress however sleep was not comfortable at all. On top of that, there was inconsistent communication from reception staff about swimming pool use, my son was told different time limits (30 v 45 minutes) and given no clear answer. In addition my son also asked for an extension lead to charge the phone a younger staff member said it was okay and older staff member said it was not something they do. A extension lead was found and my son was told rather curtly that it would need to be bought back immediately at the end of our stay - it was handed back to reception on the last day. When I raised my concerns at reception on the final morning. I was told that my email would be forwarded to the manager. When I expressed doubt that it would be passed on, the staff member told me I was being rude - which felt dismissive and inappropriate and a micro aggression towards myself. To make matters worse, reception had already taken full payment without offering me a chance to speak further about my experience or find any kind of resolution. At no point was compensation mentioned. There was no check-in afterward, no sincere effort to understand my point of view, and certainly no acknowledgment that I had not been treated with care. It’s incredibly disappointing. Hospitality should be about more than clean sheets and a nice view. It’s about how people are made to feel — especially when they’re in a vulnerable place. I left Mrs. Pages Cottages not rested, but rattled. Not held, but judged. I’m sharing this so that others who value emotional safety and human kindness know what to expect. The setting is beautiful, but beauty means very little when compassion is absent. This was a frustrating and upsetting end to a stay I was genuinely looking forward to. As returning guest I expected much more. I wont be recommending The Grove as safe place to stay.

We came to the Midsummer Ball at the weekend and had a wonderful stay. We were all very happy with our rooms, such a lovely atmosphere in the whole Building, and lovely feeling, very special. The staff were lovely, super bar area and outside seating. And loved sitting on the lawn. The Ball was well organised, and well catered for, such lovely people. So looking forward to coming up again soon and will be booking for next year's ball too. The owner and his family take great pride in the Grove and we're hands on, which is so often not the case. Thankyou for all your kindness.

This is my second time of staying and I will be back. Everyone is so friendly both staff and other guests. My bed was so comfy I almost missed breakfast! The summer ball was amazing. 100% recommend this hidden gem

The grove was a lovely hotel. Situated in a great location just 10 minutes walk t9 the centre. The staff were friendly, welcoming and the service was great. Breakfast had a great choice and the food was delicious. We also ate at the Sundown restaurant that they have which serves pizza and tapas, this was lovely too with great food and good prices. We stayed on an orchard room which was lovely because it was in the gardens, They had rooms in the hotel too or glamping pods , and also self catering accommodations so something for all tastes and ages. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would visit again on our next trip Thank you for a great stay
