RACV 골드필드 리조트(Racv Goldfields Resort)

My wife and I stayed here in a spacious Premium Suite with balcony views of the Golf Course, on the third floor. This was our second stay, as we were here last year in a Premium suite as well. We have stayed in all the RACV Resorts in Victoria and have stayed in most of them twice. The service is always excellent. We walked across the whole circuit of the Kangaroo Trail twice during our stay.

This hotel purposely overbooks in case there are any cancellations down the track. Hence my booking ( to attend a local music festival) was cancelled two weeks out from the event leaving me without accommodation for the festival. Of course everything in town was booked out at this late stage. Is this an RACV accommodation policy country wide I wonder?

I enjoyed staying at the RACV Goldfields Resort with Elise for 2 nights from Saturday 16th March 2024 to Monday 18th March 2024 we really enjoyed the Sauna. Elise thought the breakfast was delicious.. Also we liked playing Table Tennis and swimming in the Outdoor Pool.

I ordered a Porterhouse Steak with Fries and Elise ordered the Chicken Breast from the Three Founders on Sunday night. Also Sarah Jane had a massive crush on me and she really liked me a lot from The Three Founders as well. Elise thought the breakfast was delicious.. Also we liked playing Table Tennis and swimming in the Outdoor Pool.

The resort is clean. The room has reasonable amenities. Large comfy bed, couch, 2 chairs and a table. The balcony would be lovely on a warm day. The restaurant is lovely for food. We had the prawn and mushroom entree 10/10, the shared meat platter 9.5/10, the creme Broulee mouse 9/10 and the fondant cake 10/10. All lovely. Would like a little more bread with entree dish and a slightly bigger ice cream scoop for the fondant would be fantastic. I do agree with other people the carpark is steep! If you are unable to walk up the hill, drop people at the door then find a space. The pool is a tricky walk. Right on ground level (down a level from reception) and outside then back inside for an outdoor pool. Would be better if inside especially in Creswick. The pillows aren't great. The worst thing is the tiny shower. The layout is not great. Soap/shampoo/conditioner in one caddy on one side, another caddy on the otherside in a corner shower, doesn't leave much room. Then the pressure is awful. Also a couple of bottles of water in the fridge would be a nice little addition. No microwave or toaster in the room.

My partner and I booked into the Goldfields resort at Creswick for friday and saturday night at the start of February and took the resort room and breakfast package. The room was nice and roomy with a great bathroom and bedsit area. The view was pretty ordinary however after being promised a view of the Creswick forest, instead a view of the pool below and the carpark area. I should add that it was almost impossible to get a park close to the front door, the carpark being far too small for the 167 odd rooms that are offered. Oddly in relation to the room, there was a full window between the toilet and the bedroom, and only with a bit of effort were we able to pull a blind down to cover the window from the inside, but still with a gap! The kitchen'y stuff offerer was pretty sp**** as well. and the fridge was tiny with a leaky tiny freezer, that had a note saying it was unsuitable for freezing food! Air conditioning was great, bed was large and comfortable ,and the balcony was nice to sit outdoors. Towels and soap dispensers ( no bar soap!) was adequate. However, for the first night we decided to splash out and visit the in house restaurant called founders. A quick look on line revealed the menu, which looked quite nice, and not too badly priced. Imagine our surprise after booking into the restaurant for the first evening, and finding the prices and content online were nothing like the "out there" prices that were actually offered. Notwithstanding this we settled for the porterhouse steak at $49 and the scallop linguine for $36 ( my partners choice). The dishes were presently reasonably quickly and we started eating. The linguine dish was called a scallop linguine. Well after careful searching we found two very small blue mussels and a couple of prawns in the dish, where were the scallops?. Where were the scallops we asked later, greeted wtih a bit of a shrug and he walked quickly away. We got the impression that it was not the first time that question had been asked! The porterhouse steak is often described as a very tender and tasty steak. Whilst the size presented was great in this respect, the steak was nearly cold and was the most chewy steak I have ever experienced! Full of sinew it was barely edible and even small cuts from the steak took more chewing than my poor teeth could handle! Enough said!! $85 for two courses is not imo acceptable in the form that was presented to us. Thank goodness we didnt book a second night in the founders restaurant, instead visiting a local spot in Creswick, to enjoy a very enjoyable meal for almost half the cost. Notwithstanding the above, having purchased the breakfast package I was very impressed as the quality and range of the breakfast smorgasbord that was presented. In summary I wouldnt recommend the restaurant for an evening meal, however the accommodation and breakfast is good value if you are an racv member.

Great room with lovely view, spa and loungeroom. I love a good bath and this one did not disappoint. I loved having the little window to open! Everything was very clean... well done to the cleaning team! The balcony view looked over the green and you could see kangaroos mingling amongst the golfers. The breakfast was great but dinner was a bit of a let down... expensive carpaccio which was okay, and a disappointing thai salad which lacked flavour. I would stick with a main next time. Thank you RACV Goldfields.

Highly rate this beautifully situated resort. The pool was a highlight with the kids (would better if indoors but kids still had a blast), the activity room was great fun and the food was yummy. We actually ordered room service (they don’t run so you order and pick up from one of two restaurants). The best part was at dusk when you follow the kangaroo walk past the tennis courts and see all the wild kangaroos on the fairways up close.

Amazing service friendly staff, the only issue i had was with Farhan eho refused to help me or even provide me with options to my questions. He was blunt and clearly showed he had no knowledge or service skills. Felicity was extremely helpful and the waiter chandra very polite and made our holiday extremely delightful.
