I’ve been waiting for this hotel to open ever since we stayed at there Exeter hotel. I choose to drive and rang the hotel to see if they had parking alas not but Charlotte explained that there’s a large car park by the railway station that’s £8 a day for hotel guests, just look for the red entrance. Checking in was smooth with Kas but no mention of my been a Diamond Elite member and when I asked if it was possible to have a complarmenty upgrade I was told there were no rooms available, but was given a twin on a higher floor away from the 24/7 gym. When we got to our room I looked on the hotel website to find that in fact they did have available upgraded rooms for the nights we were staying (4 king suites plus 2 king premium) The room was very pleasant and very clean. Sadly the bathroom is very small only one person could use it at a time, unless one was in the shower but like most indigos the showers are fantastic. We went for a drink in the bar one evening and asked for it to be put on our room, to be told that our account had been closed!! I found out later that full payment had been taken at check in and the account was then closed!! But the bar manager must have sorted this issue out for us. The only time my Elite status was recognised was at our first morning’s breakfast when the little waitress said Wow. The breakfast choice is amazing so much to choose from, and the cooked breakfast is amazing cooked freshly and I must say a BIG THUMBS up for the poached eggs, each morning they were served just right, not a lot of IHG hotels have chef’s who can manage this. As other comments have mentioned there seems to be a few problems getting the air conditioning to work properly, this I leave to my husband 😂 but it was either to hot or to cold.
