Ecrin Blanc Resort Courchevel - Aquapark

Ecrin Blanc is wonderful for families with young children who enjoy water activities after a full day of skiing! The breakfast is very good and the fresh orange juice is the best I have had in a long time. Direct indoor access to Aquamotion is what makes this property so amazing. Highly recommended. 👍👍👍

The hotel looks nice. Very picturesque and lovely looking rooms. However once you get past the facade you will find a hotel which lacks any kind of quality service or good food. Rooms are small and not worth the price. Kids club is not very good. Restaurant staff are beyond rude to guests. Bar staff are arrogant and don’t want to take your order. Food is incredibly slow in the restaurant. We had to order pizza many nights as we could not face the slow food and terrible service. The pizza was good but got boring quickly so we ate out. Only one restaurant at the hotel with no other restaurants close. 15 minute walk to the closest village. Room service was very slow. Not a child friendly location. Don’t come here unless you want to pay very expensive prices for everything. Rooms are small for the price and I don’t recommend for a family. Either it’s one room with a sofa bed in the lounge or a very small second bedroom. No one on reception seemed to care about us. Aqua motion was good but I don’t think it should be the reason you stay at this hotel.

Be very careful about booking at this hotel. Their cancellation policy is very inflexible and despite our daughter catching COVID where we could not fly - they did not care, they offered no support and terrible service. They lied to us and contradicted themselves. They are very happy to take your money and offer you zero concessions. As a parent, this is important. I do not want to stay at a property that does not have a flexible family policy. The staff were very unpleasant as well. Be very careful - other properties are more family friendly.

It is incredible that the gym opens very late at 10 AM. And staff in the reception are snob and unable to help or try to help. The fees were never disclosed and I didn’t get any receipt. The location is great and the lady in charge of the restaurant is so nice the receptionist should learn from her.

The hotel is not in one of the villages so my children could not ski out. You need to be a competent skier to take the lift near the hotel. Instead we had to carry our skis to the bus stop and bus to the nearest village. Busses were not always regular and sometimes full which isn’t ideal with young children. I paid a premium to stay over Christmas and new year with my family. The staff in the restaurant and bar were some of the worst I have ever experienced. So rude to paying customers. The head waiters kept on changing the start and end times of meals even though they were published and placed on cards in the lifts and hotel. We all experienced food poisoning from the restaurant and the hotel staff did not help with any extra cleaning during the night. Just handed us a bucket. We were sick for 2 days. Everything was expensive and not worth the money. Staff spoke in French about English guests behind their back. Staff are young and inexperienced, seemingly students! Lacked knowledge of how to treat guest in hospitality. My daughter broke a glass as they put two tables together that were not the same height. So her glass went over the edge of the taller table to the shorter table. Waiters were annoyed at us and didn’t replace the drink in the bar. Service in the restaurant was extremely slow and patchy. Christmas dinner my young children didn’t get food until 10pm. We arrived at 7pm. Kids club was too boring for my children. Activities are more for children aged 3-5 years. Overall a very disappointing experience for the money we paid.

Hotel location: easy to get to 1850. Next to Aquamotion which is brilliant. Room: air con not great, extra sink in bathroom. Balcony welcomed. Bedside table silly. Kitchen really good. Hotel: good amenities. Spacious. Funky decor. Concierge very efficient. Hugo our waiter was amazing.
