Located about 2km from the town centre and quiet, offering a panoramic view of the arid landscape on the outskirts if Coober Pedy. Some rooms are 'dugouts', others are cabins. The cabins are spacious and equipped with air-conditioning, ensuite bathroom with separate shower, refrigerator, TV and so on. A good safe option for a two night stay and recommended

We picked this venue as it offered the cheapest underground accommodation as well as a barbecue. However, while the site offers underground accommodation, their cheapest triple room is in a (very clean, very well maintained) demountable. Additionally, the barbecue is only available to certain rooms.

The under ground apartment was great in so many ways. Getting to experience the Coober Pedy style of living even for a short time offered an insight into the the place. The design of the space was well thought out and interesting at every turn. And our host Raymond took good care of us, told us a few stories and then left us to enjoy the space. Highly recommended for comfort and interest!!

Not at all what i was expecting. Expected underground accommodation, but got a a donga accommodation instead. It was clean, but very very minimal.

The property is in the mining fields so it is really authentic. There are long range views from the hilltop. It is owner built. We did both the container above ground and the dugout as an upgrade. The owners are into.opal mining themselves. Non commercial, very grassroots. It is the real deal but well done too. Thanks for a great experience, never forgotten. A night underground. I have to say firstly, for credibility's sake only, im a Gold customer staying in over 30 hotels per year for business and pleasure, and I've never left a bad review. However, we had an absolute appalling experience with this property, and the very aggressive and dishonest owner/operator. We arrived at a filthy, dingy property, with an old oil drum and tyre to drive around. No one was there, the office enterance was covered in a ripped green garden netting and everywhere was filthy. I called the owner on the phone, who insisted on cash payment, allbeit politely at first. We had a disagreement on this, and he simply told me if i couldnt pay him cash, then we should "go away". He wouldnt then answer the phone to ********** Has this place changed hands since the last reviews ? Who knows, but on my experience I promise you should stay away ! You have been warned !!!!

Quiet, clean property just out of town. Good facilities. A swing around tv in the middle of the unit would be more easily viewed. Loved the location, good stargazing

Great to experiencce underground living. Loved the few minutes out of town vastness. Very comfortable. Good value. Need your own toiletries except soap. Easy checkin, small group of 3.
