Nice Premier Plus room. Could not here any noise from corridor or other rooms on 2nd floor. Great bathroom and shower/hair products. Would stay again.

Nice hotel & restaurant, food was satisfactory and lots of options, mini fridge was also a nice touch, but the room was absolutely roasting. Tried the air con but was super loud and not very effective. Nice staff & facilities (except for aircon) though.

I prefer to use Premier Inns when travelling as many have a similar layout. They are normally clean and have friendly staff. The only problem we encountered at Cockermouth, a hotel we have used on a number of occasions, was a ruling which states you have to request your room be cleaned each day whereas before this has been done as a matter of course. We were staying for four nights which could have meant an uncomfortable room by the end of the stay. I believe this is an error from Premier Inns owners which should be reversed as soon as possible. It is bad enough having to cope with a lousy resturant next door without antagonising customers by this penny pinching rule.

On arrival outside I thought we were arriving at some sort of institution, it was very bland looking. Also the grounds could do with some landscaping. Apart from that once inside everything was perfect. The staff were very friendly. The food was good.

Booked a 2-night stay in a family room in April. Reception staff were friendly and the checkout process was smooth. Unfortunately the room was very hot, the thermostat could not be turned down below 19 degrees and the windows don't open. As a result none of us could sleep well the entire night. Asked the staff at the reception next morning to look into it, and the lady said it was a simple control and would be fixed in no time. On coming back at the end of the day, the room was hot as ever, and it was clear nothing had been done about it. Went back to the reception, this time a different staff member was manning the desk. Once again we were told it would be sorted out in a few minutes... nothing happened, and a couple of hours later we decided to check out of the hotel and just go home. The prospect of another sleepless night was not something anyone in the family was looking forward to. We will not be returning to this hotel. I think it is good for people who like extremely hot rooms and don't mind a sleepless night or two.

Make sure you use the carpark register as free parking is available for all guests with vehicles. Additional tea and coffee and milk are available for free in the reception area. If you opted to have breakfast make sure you go straight to the bar and pay or give room number before you are made to feel embarrassed by a member of staff raising his/ her voice asking if you have paid.
