This place is in a lovely location and looks inviting from the outside. Sadly the quality of the food I was served was the lowest possible standard. The veg chilli was almost completely devoid of flavour and was accompanied by a mound of old reheated rice. The whole lot had clearly been subjected to time in a microwave behind the scenes. Very poor indeed! Not recommended for anyone who likes food to be tasty.

I cannot understand some of the reviews written here as or experience was exemplary! Very easy booking system, lovely pleasant staff with a 'can do' attitude and helpful all the way through. We had a tasty and piping hot meal served to us in the evening and the staff again were helpful and pleasant despite being fairly busy. We slept well and enjoyed a well cooked and presented breakfast from the buffet - what's not to like? Unfortunately we only stayed the one night on our way to a holiday cottage but both agree that the next time we pass by we will extend our stay over several nights. A really great hotel.

Last minute visit too meet up with friends. On arrival (early) the lovely Rachel allowed us into our room early. The room was amazing, I would say freshly decorated. It had everything we needed. Tea/Coffee. TV..although rather small! No shower, but a bath, with lovely hot water. Only reason I gave a 4 star..very creaky floorboards, noisy bathroom fan...and radiator that wasn't on...made an horrendous noise at 5am...Evening meal was very nice,Breakfast was 5 star. Bar staff were great. Would be great if they knew more about the history of the Inn...I looked it up myself when I got home. Rachel is definitely a big asset to the Hotel.
