We arrived to a warm and friendly greeting promptly booked in and shone to our room,first impressions the room was cosy warm and beautifully decorated, we had a room on the first floor that had a view to front and beyound to open countryside, the bed was comfy and the linen was crisp and luxurious,we had all the luxury coffee machine,kettle a selection of teas chocolates hair dryer iron everything you could want , we had a couple of issues that were promptly dealt with by the ever willing staff, nothing was to much trouble and all done with a smile, the bar area is superb with all its little crooks and crannies, i forgot to mention that we also got a free gin and tonic and very nice it was, we decided to eat in the bar and ordered from the menue a little under whelming but adequate, the food arrived a starter of whitebait very nice then we waited for at least 35 minutes for our mains the food was at best tepid and not of the best quality as the bar wasn't that busy we would have expected a better experience, everything was a 10 except the food,overall we have had a nice stay at the bear the staff are a asset there friendly approachable and nothings to much trouble so thank you all for a really nice stay

I visited this hotel with my mother for my birthday. We had a lovely weekend. The staff were very accommodating and couldn’t.t do enough for us. We will certainly visit it again sometime. I would definitely would recommend this hotel it’s quaint and peaceful.

Beautiful staff & hotel. I went with a group of nice people & everyone had a good experience, great food, & thoughtful kind staff that were extremely accommodating. Saturday night service was a little slow but the place was packed & we didn't mind the rest of the week was perfect!

Extremely disappointing evening meal. Service started well, but menu choices were underwhelming. Service deteriorated as the evening progressed and we eventually waited 20+ minutes for desserts...and there was hardly anybody else in there! Portions were mean and it was all overpriced. We definitely won't be returning.

Wow what a gem! Amazing place to stay. Our room was wonderful, loved all the unique little extras. The decor was brilliant, we loved the Goldilocks theme. We had everything we needed in our room. The bed was very comfy, the shower lovely, the bath a great extra. The speaker was fabulous, fiance now wants to buy a Marshall!! We had a great nights sleep, the hotel was very quiet. Our evening meal and breakfast were delicious and the staff all very friendly and attentive. This was our first stay and we'll definitely be booking again

We visited for Sunday lunch, first the positives Sunday lunch was exceptional, not often a Sunday lunch beats my husband, but the quality and quantity did, the staff attentive and helpful. The negatives £11 for a 250 ml glass of wine , seriously, we stayed in a 4 star hotel last weekend and a large glass of wine was £9.50 - Asda have an offer on this week 2 bottles of same type of wine £10. The next issue 10% service charge , not mentioned on the menu as being charged, we were served our drinks at the bar on the way into the restaurant, why are you charging a 10% service charge for a service not provided. Will we return unfortunately not, whilst we didn’t mind the food pricing , please look at your drinks pricing.

A great find ! A hotel with great decor, comfortable rooms, a great bar and restaurant, and excellent proximity to Christchurch. Staff could not have been more helpful. Excellent food. Will be my go-to hotel for this area from now on! To think I used to stay in a nearby Premier Inn...what was I thinking ??

Very poor service Waited far too long for a very inadequate meal. Children would still be hungry after eating it. Dessert was unbelievably awful. Supposedly lemon flavour Tasted of nothing but white paste Refund offered and taken. Home for toast. Don't bother wasting your money Go to McDonald's instead

Had a night out with friends, very disappointed with the food! Had the fish and chips advertised as 2. For £15. We were charged £17. Advised it would be a smaller portion,It was a child sized portion. The desert was disappointing no flavour supposed to have been a lemon flavour. No lemon what so ever. It felt like we were not wanted. Had to wait for nearly an hour for food to be served. Half slice of bread and butter each. Wont be returning
