We stayed in the Chartwell dome at Luna Domes, and honestly, it was such a special experience. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely relaxed—the setting is breathtaking, with gorgeous views, peaceful surroundings, and total privacy. The dome itself is beautifully designed, with cozy yet stylish interiors, plush bedding, and thoughtful touches everywhere that made it feel luxurious but still warm and welcoming. We loved spending mornings on the deck with coffee, and evenings inside the hot tub!—it was the perfect escape from everyday life with my partner.

Having contacted the company 4 times now in the hope of getting a response, and yet receiving none, I feel the need to write a review which outlines issues we had at luna domes. We recently stayed in the Chartwell dome and were very disappointed with many aspects of our stay, considering the cost. The cleanliness was a real issue. When we tried to use the hot tub it the bottom and sides of the inside of the tub were grimy and dirty- there was brown scum on the top. I have taken pictures in case you need to see them. Once we realised how dirty the tub and water were, we couldn’t use it again. The fridge was broken. There was no shelf in the door, as it had snapped off. We reported this at the time, only to be told that there was nothing that could be done. The fridge was also dirty. In the dustpan by the bin was a broken glass- it hadn’t been removed by the cleaners. We reported this too. We were given a number for the site manager as in our email we were told to contact them with our concerns. We tried calling- there was no answer. The faux fur throws and cushions clearly hadn’t been washed- one had a mark on. The knitted throw had a coffee stain on it. This still smelled of coffee. Despite the fact that we had booked for 4, there was no proper duvet on the mezzanine bed, only a duvet cover. There was a sign on the ladder telling us not to use the bed. The curtains had come off the rings/fastenings in a few places, so they didn’t hang without gaping open at the top. The sink area was very much in need of repair. The worktop around the sink was so water damaged it was unhygienic. There were bits of food in the sink from the previous holiday makers I assume. The coffee machine was faulty, and the tray leaked. It was on the shelf up high so couldn’t easily be used either. When we got there, it was full of used pods from previous guests so we had to clear it out. Not something we would expect to have to do. The floor inside the dome was very grubby- under the bed was a lot of rubbish- tissues, crumbs etc. The luna domes kids drawing pack had already been used and drawn in. outside, the ignition button on the barbecue was no longer working. We were still able to use it without, but it needs sorting. We had to clean the barbecue before we used it. The outdoor table was so wobbly it was practically unusable. The bathroom sink appeared clean, but on closer inspection, there was a set of false eyelashes by the taps. As you have pointed out in other reviews, the sound of some planes overhead is inevitable, but during our stay, the planes were very, very noticeable until 3 in the morning. It ruined what should have been a good nights sleep, as the beds in fact were extremely comfortable. The noise was unbelievable. A couple of bits of crockery were chipped - not a deal breaker, but so easily replaced. The bedside table was in need of repair, and the wood had chipped. Very disappointed. Noise levels are horrific. It's near a busy road and directly under a flight path. Tent wasn't very clean. Dirty tissue under the bed, throws smelled and clearly hadn't been washed. Crockery not all clean. Terrible wifi, not high speed at all as advertised. Bathroom flooded every time we had a shower. Contacted the directors from the number given and no answer after several attempts. They did finally ring back and just said, oh, no one has mentioned that before! Really helpful!!! Hot Tub was so bslimey and slippery it was horrible. Above all, it was a very overpriced, poor value for money break.

We have stated before in Wakehurst with no complaints at all. This time we stayed in Ashdown. The hot tub was not working on arrival. I called and they sent someone to attempt to fix. This was a temporary fix. Like other comments on here. The hot tub did not feel clean. Had an odd smell, and also slimy from not being cleaned thoroughly. We didn’t stay in there. Another issue with the hot tub, the log burner part, the door is bent so doesn’t close without force. This caused me to burn my hand to be able to close it fully. I get that’s my own fault, but still poorly managed. The dome, compared to Wakehurst is tired and worn out. Cupboards hanging on, quick repairs obvious to other areas. The main problem was that the dome had not been cleaned very well. Previous occupants contact lens on the bedside table, rubbish on the floor by the bed. Moved the cushions on the floor and there was rubbish under them. We loved the first time we went, but this time the price vs quality was not acceptable.

We booked for a one night stay in Ashdown dome. The done was beautiful and the outlook so peaceful. The dome on arriving was very warm and we were unable to stay inside even with the fan provided being on. It was a warm day so we fully appreciated it would cool once the sun went down, which it did. The dome was well equipped and facilities well thought out with good instructions available. We were disappointed with the hot tub as the walls to it were slimy and the water had a nasty smell so this stopped us using it as we all didn’t feel it was right. We never attempted to use the hot tub until 9pm when we returned back to the dome. I did raise with Luna domes as a concern on the day we left via email. There response was the from our perspective expected but our aim was for others not to have a similar experience. If you are a light sleeper the dome we stayed in is on a flight path so every 10-15 minutes you hear plans passing over this continuous through the night.
