The best thing about this hotel is its location. It is quite dated and the front desk is manned at limited times of the day.

Can only describe this hotel as a dump’! Such a shame as it’s in beautiful grounds but very very run down. We had paid for an upgrade but basically got a stark disabled room! Very poor menu and poor staff attitude. Got burnt scrambled egg for breakfast which cost £13.95. Could go on but basically don’t bother going

Tired dilapidated and overpriced with absolutely nothing to offer to a business traveller. The hotel has obviously had no investment for some years and it shows. The bedrooms are dated has a tiny tv that has the worst reception the shower over bath has two settings freezing cold or excruciatingly hot the bathroom floor is so slippy it's a death trap for the unwary the tiles are mouldy the phone in the room doesn't work the furniture is old and stained there are no usb points the cupboards have impossible to use clothes hangers the ironing board I extracted from reception was filthy and the iron base was covered in black goo there were however three free biscuits 🍪. The corridors smell of gas the carpets are worn and look dirty and the paintwork around the public areas remind one of a 1960s council offices. There is very little signage directing guests to the exit which could be fatal in a fire and nothing in the room that advises guests of where to go in the event of one. There is no info on restaurant timings or places to see in the room and when I requested room service I was told to be quick as they didn't want to upset the chef as he wanted to get away early it was 7.00pm!!!!!!! I didn't see or hear any other guest and frankly I am not surprised the owners need to get their fingers out and sort this place out or sell it to someone who will. Apart from the free biscuits and easy parking I cannot think of one reason why I would stay here again.

We stayed here for 3 nights . The hotel is very clean and tidy it was very quiet when we stayed here. we did bed and breakfast the buffet was not running as it was too quiet the breakfast was very good quality we had a full English but had to ask for extra sausage on the 2nd day which was not a problem a nice coffee machine and continental breakfast layed out you just helped yourself. The room we had was lovely very spacious with French doors a huge bed so was very comfortable. We have a ev car and the hotel has ev charging points which is great and free we asked at reception and they turned on a charging point for us the staff were friendly really enjoyed our stay here

Very disappointing experience. On arrival, asked to pay the bill immediately... Should have taken the hint. Once paid, informed that the restaurant was unavailable due to a private function. The room at first appearance seemed OK, quite spacious. However, on closer inspection, not especially clean, some of the light switches didn't work. The TV remote had no back cover, and tv didn't appear to work, turns out it was unplugged and the so let switched off. These issues were minor in comparison to the dystopian farce that they call breakfast. Guest are spread between 3 or 4 different rooms. Then there's a central bit with the preprepared stuff like coffee - lukewarm and almost run out. No milk. There was juice, but no glasses. You have to order cooked items, one person serving 4 rooms and maybe 30 guests, it was a shambles. We sat for 20 minutes trying to order but nothing. We weren't alone. Everyone around us in the same boat. In the end we gave up and decamped to McDonald's. Not quite the relaxed hotel breakfast we had envisaged. We're back up this way next month, not a cat in hells chance we'll stay here again. A park bench is more alluring.

I came for Mother’s Day afternoon tea with my family we was served by a young lady by the name of amber we was looked after so well and was always seeing if we needed anything and if everything was ok with our afternoon tea she is a credit to you and will come back again

The room was very clean as was the bathroom. However we were not advised that the room was in the eves with sloping ceilings that made it very difficult to avoid hitting your head. The bed was comfotable with excellent linnen and towels. However there was only a very low childrens chair in the bedroom so nowhere to sit. No usb sockets for mobile chargeing. The entrance lobby did not have a light so a door stop was prided to keep it open to the bedroom.. The bathroom did not have a chair or stool. The bath only had an overhead huge shower . How do you shower without wetting head - not possible. Tricky access to room on steep winding stairs. Help should have been offered.

Lovely place to stay, great night sleep, very friendly staff. Looking forward to staying there again!

The hotel looks lovely on the website but is obviously very misleading. We decided to treat ourselves and pay for an upgrade to one of their executive rooms which the hotel advertises as offering something special and with luxurious bathrooms. The room was spacious but by no means special. As with the rest of the hotel it needed a good cleaning. The carpet was dirty with dead flies, the side table legs were broken, the base of the bed was badly stained. The "luxurious bathroom" was disgusting. There was black mould around the bath, taps and wall tiles. I was shocked by the state of the grubby plastic shower curtain and rusty curtain pole. The lovely receptionist tried very hard to find an alternative room but after checking several other rooms was unable to find one that didn't have the same issues. Despite emailing the manager several times to resolve my complaint I am still waiting for him to reply.
