아스트로 스위트 호텔(Astro Suite Hotel)

Please see below an email I sent to the hotel after they tried to pick holes in my fair and honest review. I do not appreciate your reply to my review on Tripadvisor. I gave an honest review of your very average hotel. 1. The linen was not good enough! We were not shown to our room as you say. This is a lie. We did not get our linen changed every three days and felt we had to ask for it to be changed after our 8th night. So again more lies from you. 2. If the breakfast is of such high quality then why was there stale bread? Fruit selection was minimal compared to other four star hotels that we have stayed at. 3. Not all of your rooms have a sea view, this is another lie. The pictures speak for themselves. We expressed our dissatisfaction with the room but the only other choice was another room without a sea view and it had less outdoor space, so we stayed where we were. I wish we had just left the hotel as we didn’t get what we paid for. 4. The only thing you said that was actually true was that we were appreciative and kind to the hotel staff. Of course we were, just because we were polite does not mean that we were happy with the hotel. 5. After checkout we did not use the pool area as you suggest. We sat on the tables directly outside reception as we were told there was a 40 euro charge to use the pool and the downstairs shower room. It’s very rude to challenge a guest review and especially as your response was full of lies. I feel as if you have called me a liar and this just shows to me that the hotel is poorly managed.

We had a lovely 10 day stay at this hotel. A wonderful room with sea view and view of the old town, it was cleaned every day including fresh linens and towels. There was plenty of room for the two of us, the kitchen had everything we needed and the air conditioning was very effective. We enjoyed the breakfast, I would have liked a little more fresh fruit but that is a minor quibble. The pool was small but cooling and we swam in the sea everyday. Glorious! All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. There is an excellent supermarket 5 minutes away. The railway station is approximately 10 mins walk away, useful if you fancy a day trip to Palermo. A stroll into the old town is just over 5 minutes and it is a beautiful place with lots of history, boutiques and fabulous eating options. We were slightly dissapointed that we couldn't get a late checkout on our last day, but we used the shower room and were charged €25.00 for 2 of us, which I was happy to pay and we spent the last day between the pool and beach. We had a lovely time and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.

This hotel is a 3 star not a 4 star. Bedding and furnishings not up to scratch. Slept on sofa bed with no bottom sheet and duvet with no cover. After our 8th night we had to ask for a linen change. 4 star hotels should offer a daily linen change. Poor breakfast. Small selection of cold buffet items. Stale bread. Ended up buying our own bread, fruits and cereals from the supermarket. Faulty toilet flush in our room with a sign on where to press it but even when doing this it’s still faulty. Hot tub is a cold tub with only two functioning jets. Pool is very shallow. We paid for a room with a sea view but didn’t get a sea view. (Photographic evidence attached) When complaining about this we were offered another room considered to have a sea view but this just overlooked a car park so we stayed where we were. No bar or restaurant. The hotel considers the breakfast room to be a restaurant. It is not. Provided with a towel to use for pool and beach but extra charge if we wanted to swap for a clean one. So we just used one smelly towel for 11 days We were not allowed to use pool area on our last day after checkout, even though we had 6 hours to kill. 40 euro charge if we wanted to have a shower before our flight. Complaint with jet2 pending. Basically we didn’t get what we paid for. On a positive note, the location of this hotel is excellent and the staff for the most part are friendly and attentive. If you are thinking of visiting Cefalu then I would recommend the hotel next door. Victoria palace, it seems to actually be a four star hotel and it’s cheaper than Astro suite, don’t understand why.

This hotel was excellent and the staff were exceptional especially giavani Luca snd yanas in reception they went out of their way to help you whenever they could. There was a large selection of food for breakfast and the rooms were spotless the maid came in every day. The location was perfect right on the sea front and just a walk away to the centre which was full of lovely cafes restaurants and shops. There is a lovely beach bar with a lovely friendly atmosphere. Would definitely recomend the arrancini 😋 Liz and Gary sunderland.

Great location with parking possibility. The room was huge, nice and clean. The breakfast was very teasty and wide range of different food. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The pool was clean but the water was quite cold. It is near the lungomare, like 200m from the old city center.

Nice rooms overlooking the beach. Sofa bed in sitting room for our son. Fresh, simple breakfasts. But the beds aren’t very comfortable. Our bed had a rubberised bottom sheet which squeaked every time we moved and it was very hot even though it’s not very warm in Sicily yet. We didn’t sleep well.

Astro Suites is well situated directly on the beach, is very clean and well maintained. Appreciated the kitchenette which is well stocked for quick meals, grocery stores close by as well as many restaurants. Breakfast offers a lot of variety, great coffee. Only issue is inconsistent Wifi in the rooms, strong signal in lobby though. Good service from Giovanni at the front desk reception which has staff 24 hours. Easy walking distance to train station.

We love Cefalu and this time we chose to stay in the Astro Suite Hotel May/June 2023. We found it to be ideally situated opposite the beach and within easy walking distance of the old town and railway station. The rooms were well kept and cleaned daily. Each had a basic kitchenette which was great for us to make lunches or the odd evening meal. Our apartment had a great view over the pool and beach (there was a discount at the beach lido for hotel guests). I require a gluten free diet and the hotel had a whole selection of gluten free items for my breakfast, Nadia & Caroline really looked after me along with providing me with numerous Italian coffees. Luca & Giovanni on the front desk were also really helpful and offered us regular help & advice. The pool is quite small but has sun loungers and has a fairly large shallow childrens section. When we return to Cefalu we will definitely stay here again. Thank you again to all the staff at Astro Suite Hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at Astro Suite Hotel. The location is perfect, just 50 metres from the beach and an easy 7min walk into Cefalu Old Town and far enough away not to be troubled by late night noise. There are lots of restaurants in the Old Town, but also several good ones just a very short walk from the Hotel. There is also a good supermarket close by that does amazing take away food. The apartments are beautifully clean and very comfortable and all have a balcony with a sea view. There is a lift if needed. The breakfast choice was excellent and could be taken inside or on the outside terrace (which was definitely our choice). There is a lovely outdoor pool area with sun beds all kept spotlessly clean. The staff were all amazing, with special mention to Giovanni (who I booked with by telephone) and Luca both of whom have excellent English, and Nadia the star of the breakfast room, really lovely people. Cefalu itself is a lovely resort set in a bay with a long promenade where you can walk for about a mile from the bustling Old Town with its medieval Cathedral enjoying the wonderful sea views. There is also the railway station with trains linking to the rest of Sicily. Recommend these apartments and hopefully we will return.
