The Icaro hotel location is very good. You can see the beautiful views whole day even in the night time. The service is also very good.

ICARO is located in a nice quiet location to enjoy the majestic mountain views (Plattkofel, Langkofel and Schlern) of the Dolomites. The staff are helpful and friendly which made the stay extra enjoyable. Stéphanie had provided us with helpful suggestions of where to explore the area by foot. We went on enjoyable hikes to Compatsch and Gondola Mont Seuc (passing Paranoma Alpe Siusi). The 4-course dinner included with the half board option at the hotel was delicious. It was fine-dining at its best. Haval was our friendly waiter most of the time and he made us feel at home. There are also activities organised by the hotel and we went on a 2.5 hr snowshoe hike around the area. It was quite an experience for us coming from the tropics. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel. We will definitely stay here again if we are visiting the area.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 days in May 2024. And I would definitely come again!! Rooms are big, comfy, with a magnificent view. The food in the restaurant was outstanding!! The restaurant stuff really polite. My 5 year old was very welcomed. There was no crowd in the swimming pool area so we almost had a pool for ourselves. Can not speak about sauna and fitness area because I haven't used them. There is one little thing I wish they could change: The other guest in the pool area was allowed to bring a glass of wine, however, my husband was not allowed to take a cup of coffee from the bar and bring it with him. That situation has left *a bad taste in my mouth" Somehow I felt we all haven't been treated the same. It CAN NOT happen in that kind of hotel! Overall we had a pretty good stay, relaxed and felt more in love with our nature.

I have stayed here two years in a row in early July and have fond memories of the hotel. The hotel staff was friendly on both stays. The rooms are comfortable, well decorated, quiet and have great views from the balcony. From a photography perspective I appreciated having Alpe di Suisi right out the door for sunrise and sunset. I will say sunrise had more stable weather for me. My experience with sunset was that there was often thunderstorms. The area has several good webcams that you can scroll through past dates/times to get familiar with the weather and the seasons. One of the most photographed spots is about a twenty minute moderate/easy walk away near Malga Sanon. Icaro hotel is about the closest hotel you can get. In terms of location its good if you are planning to stay in the area. You can easily get to Ortisei by scenic twenty to thirty minute walk to the gondola. The walk will take you past several photogenic locations and Malga Sanon where you can have a nice lunch. Once in Ortisei you can take a cable car up to Seceda. I have also stayed over by Seceda, but didn’t find staying over there conducive for sunset/sunrise pictures given lodging was almost an hour hike away and on a steep hill. Additionally, well driving around Alpe di Suisi is controlled you can come/go in the morning or evening. So it is possible to do day trips from here . We did drive to Kastelruth for dinner one day. The gondola does stop running around 5:30-6pm. For me the ideal trip to the Dolomites is to stay at Icaro hotel for a few nights along with a few nights over by Cortina/Dobbica to somewhat reduce driving times between locations in the Dolomites. If you would like to stay one place and explore all of the Dolomites there is probably more central towns. However, I truly enjoy the setting of Icaro hotel and rinding the cable cars/gondolas nearby to get around the area. I would recommend Icaro hotel to others.

We had such a wonderful time in Icaro. The location is breathtaking. The rooms are very fresh and tastefully decorated and with an unforgettable view on the mountains when you open the curtains in the morning. The hotel has the perfect size for us. Very personal and friendlyl approach of the team. You feel the dedicated vibe of a family-owned hotel in all details. That makes you really feel at home. Delicious food in the morning and the evening. A (free) tour on the snow boots with family member guide Alex. A tour about the architecture of the hotel with an other family member.We definitely hope to come back some days. The only minus to us was the temperature in the room (we slept with the balcony door open and still warm) and it was too warm in the restaurant.
