Where do I start ..... well here goes ..... I arrived at this hotel at 7pm on Wednesday 3rd April after a 10 hour flight from Manchester UK. Booked this resort with Loveholidays . I was booked to stay 14nights and my wife who is Cuban and lives in UK with me was coming to stay last 4 nights as she was visiting family in Holgefore we returned to uk My wife came to the hotel to make sure I checked in OK. This is where the nightmare started. On going to reception to check in after showing my reservation and booking details , I was told abruptly by receptionist that , I would need to pay before I could access my room . As I had already paid the hotel through Loveholidays , I said sorry but I have paid and showed them the receipts ect , receptionist said maybe so , but the reservation was not paid by the holiday company or a third party agency in Cuba . As my wife was there she spoke to them in Spanish , but to no avail, they were not letting me check in unless I paid again . I contacted Loveholidays and was put through to to an agent somewhere in far East , ( ended up coming home to £200 mobile phone bill ) . They spoke with reception desk this we on all evening . I was then approached by the most arrogant , insulting , offence and downright rude duty Manager , sorry cannot remember his name but small white grey haired guy with a mullet . He kept telling me I needed to pay and pay by credit card , which I told him I did not have . He kept saying that the holiday company would not pay and that they were liars , and he treated me like a criminal and would not listen to reason , and one point he was treating me with Cuban Police . He wjust would not listen to me or my wife . Anyway he went off duty leaving me no further forward . By the this time its after midnight , after many calls to my holiday company , they assured that the bill would be paid for , but then the hotel would not accept the company in Cubas credit card . By this time I'm totally exhausted by flight and the situation , also my wife had to leave as she had a bus to catch at 5.30am from Matanzas. Eventually the hotel let me in at 3.30am , but took my passport as hotel was still not paid for . At 4.30am Cuban time I managed to contact main office of Loveholidays in UK, and was assured it would be sorted out . I went down to reception again atv8am to be told it was still not resolved and I would need to vacate room by 11am and pay $150 US dollars for use of room . I was distraught by this pont , Eventually I received call from Loveholidays saying bill was not paid at 1pm , and to go back to reception . I got my passport back ect in front of this manager who was still insisting that bill was not paid and holiday company were liars . I had to walk away from him as his arrogance and manners were disgraceful . Now onto hotel , room was very nice , food not good , staff not very nice or approachable , pools very nice , queue s for eve
