Hotel Villa Tropical

Looking for an epic surfing or fishing adventure in a tropical paradise, coupled with luxurious accommodations? Then look no further. I have had the distinct pleasure of staying at the Villas Tropical on three separate occasions in the last 3 months. Why so many times? Because the entire experience is simply amazing. We can't seem to get enough! First off, if you want an authentic Old Mexico experience, then Caleta de Campos is certainly the place. The town and its people are friendly, beautiful and welcoming, plus the food is amazing! Secondly, the Villas Tropical are like no other place I have ever been. The architecture will blow you away as walk from one amazing room to the next. This place is like a combination of an art gallery, a museum, and a luxury hotel. Nearly every wall has a unique piece of art hanging on it. There are numerous stunning surf paintings, a wall of 30 masks from across the globe, and an indoor hot tub with a swim thru to the outside swimming pool! This place is over the top. There are spectacular ocean views everywhere on the property (there is a blow hole, bufadora, right out front). The views from the patios and palapas on the second story are breathtaking. Climb a short set of stairs to the rooftop palapas for a siesta, and there the view is somehow even more incredible! The owner is a horticulturist, and, it makes sense as the landscaping is gorgeous, vibrant, and immaculately manicured. Speaking of the owner, this review would not be complete without mentioning Juan, the owner of the Villas and a world class guide. He is a consummate Surfer, Fisherman, Diver and all around Adventurer. Are you looking for world class waves? Juan will put you on the Surf! Perhaps deep sea fishing is your thing? Juan will get you on the fish! Are Diving and Spearfishing your sport of choice? Juan does that too! And, he will keep you laughing and show you a roaring good time! This guy is the real deal. So if you love adventure, or maybe just luxurious accommodations in a paradisaic setting, then you simply must visit the Villas Tropical in Caleta de Campos! It is a one of a kind. unique experience.
