Chateau Lafayette

Small cruise ship, compact, so it feels "homey". The crew is nice and helpful, goes out of their way to be of service. There was some talk of "tips expectation" in Egypt in general, but I didn't feel that at all on this cruise. The crew seems genuinely helpful. The rooms were comfortable, although the bathroom a bit small. A/C was super cold! We had buffet meals on board, and the chefs made an effort to change up the menu, which we appreciated as we were pretty buffet-ed out by the end of the trip with different names for similar tasting dishes! Drinks on board by international standards were not expensive. The one thing that could be improved upon was the rattling noise from the vibration when the ship was sailing at speed. It was particularly loud at the dining/lounge area - luckliy the rooms were more insulated.

As part of my vacation package, I spent 3 nights sailing the Nile River aboard the Chateau Lafayette. I would describe is as a mid-range option. The accommodations were nice and clean. I loved that the room was a nice size, and the bathroom was full size as well. The food was good at breakfast, lunch and dinner. The staff was professional, helpful, and fun to sail with. Each night was a different theme, and the wait staff dressed differently each day. I am not a fan of big ocean cruises; so I was glad to have this pleasant experience on the smaller river cruise vessel. I think I would be open to another river cruise. The cleaning staff kept our rooms and the entire boat very clean each day.

I stayed on this boat on what was my first ever river cruise, and was not disappointed! The staff on board were extremely friendly, the food was good, and there were plenty of events for the guests in the evening! The cleaners also spend a lot of time making funny inventions from towels, and we were always laughing upon our return to our rooms! This is a brilliant experience, and there are some great views from the top deck.

It was the most beautiful trip of my life, a real luxury trip. The ship is wonderful, our cabin was clean and large, nicely and tastefully furnished. A comfortable, huge bed, a spa bath equipped with everything. Nothing was missing! The food was gorgeous. They are spectacular, beautifully served, delicious and very varied dishes. We don't eat poultry, and I don't eat fish either, but I could still choose from at least 3 types of meat dishes! And desserts and fruits! They were divine! The staff was kind, polite, courteous, everyone tried to please us. My husband and I spent our wedding anniversary on the ship. It was amazing! The staff treated us with a cake and greeted us! It was very touching, we didn't even expect it. Thanks for it everyone! We really like to travel, we have already been to 70 countries, and we have just been to Egypt for the fourth time. But we have never had such an experience! We had nothing to complain about, we had a great time. The best trip we ever had the cruise was excellent the food was delicious with a lot of variety and staff was very helpful and always smiling room was very clean thanks so much for everything for all Chateau staff and special thanks for ms Madlin "plant tours " for her support and good arrange for all visits

Very comfortable bed, slept like a log. Staff very accommodating. Buffet meals worked well, but don't expect to get what is sometimes advertised on their themed nights. Oriental night had every other kind of food bar Oriental, quite amused by it. Cabins comfortable but our shower was made for someone 5ft tall. Sun deck was really nice including the jacuzzi.
