Great hotel, staff were friendly and loved the ale house bar. One thing that could be improved is the Lift speed, it is painfully slow! I would recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again

We enjoyed a fantastic few days at the Ripon Inn, our first since it has been refurbished. Previously we had visited the Ripon Spa many times. We loved the new decor, comfort and style of the refurbished hotel. Visually it looks great, and so clean and comfortable too. The Staff are all helpful and friendly, food was very enjoyable, and not too over priced. I have two negative comments. The stair case up to the first floor is nice and wide, but in my opinion, for safety it should have a handrail on both sides. Particularly for us oldies. I was a little wary of passing people on the stairs. ( There is a lift ) Second point, as a gardener I was very pleased to see trees have been planted in the garden. However they are not being looked after very well and have been very badly staked. I would like to suggest you engage someone who knows what they are doing to give them some attention, and re-stake them, or more will be damaged by adverse weather. I used to love wandering around the attractive garden, and croquet lawns, I'm sure if the trees are looked after and when the new roses mature, it will look better again. Another asset is the gate through to the adjoining Spa Garden We will be back again, to stay, we love the Ripon area and the hotel is a rel asset. Very well done to the staff and designers.

After two previous stays at the Inn Collection Group of Hotels, with very mixed results, we were a bit dubious about booking again, especially after reading some of the negative comments about the Ripon Inn but we had a fabulous overnight stay last Sunday night. Our room was great, absolutely spotless, and very spacious with a great view over the very large gardens with a real nice comfortable bed. The negative comments we were concerned about were all about poor staff and food, yet we found both great, no issues at all. I did online check in and check out at this hotel, which was very efficient Staff all very friendly.

Only eaten here as live locally. Having previously enjoyed drinks on the terrace at the rear of the building which has a nice outlook, we thought we’d return this evening and try the food. Ordered scampi and chips and toad in the hole, so not the most difficult of dishes to get right. Whilst scampi was quite nice when it arrived I seriously thought my wife had ordered off the children’s menu as the portion was tiny. The chips were also overcooked. Toad in the hole on the other hand was under cooked. There are far better places in Ripon serving better quality food and far better value for money. The decor in the bar is nice and looks impressive. Before we left I visited the Gents. Whilst modern and recently refurbished a previous visitor had clearly left a trail of destruction behind them with you know what all over the walls of the toilet cubicle. I found a member of staff to make them aware and said you really need to sort your toilets out as they are disgusting. The young man seemed wholly uninterested and just said “oh are they” and walked off. Very disappointing evening having previously had good experiences at 2 other Inn Collection venues. Ripon Inn you need to up your game or you will end up in the same brown stuff that is splattered all over your toilet wall.

Visited the Ripon Inn for a couple of days for a old college reunion. First time I've seen the place since it's change of name from the Ripon Spar Hotel and its refurbishment. Twelve out of ten for the job theg have done !! From a tired old place to a modern, comfy hotel. The bedroom was clean and functional, the public areas superb. Very cleverly laid out and beautifully decorated. Staff efficient , competent and friendly, food also very good. Any further trips to Ripon, I certainly would not hesitate to book again.

We had a great room, fabulous service, super friendly helpful staff - it was a lovely place to stay when meeting up with family and our dog was made welcome too. Thank you.

Recently reburbished smart hotel a five minute walk in to town, parking was easy but can imagine it will get full quickly. The hotel was very busy during our stay but the staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble, our room whilst small was fine and had a fantastic view of the gardens which are a work in progress. We had dinner in the hotel and it could have been better but breakfast was very good, overall a good stay and would return.

Location is an easy walk into Ripon itself and near all the tourist spots. Room excellent size and recently refurbished. Staff generally very pleasant and helpful with the exception of the breakfast staff who were less so. The bar is very good with a wide selection of drinks. The one thing that lets the place down is the food quality. The breakfast was not the variety advertised and the first morning they had almost run out of food although we were not late. The terrine starter for the evening meal was poor and the mains just OK. I would stay again but eat in one of the Ripon restaurants.
