I had gone to 9am meeting and returned just before 11am to finish packing and use the bathroom & take medication before going for my train. I left the do not disturb sign on the door. The cleaner ignored my do not disturb sign and came in during the morning and when I got back just before 11am (an hour before checkout!) found that they had cleaned the room as though I had checked out. All my stuff was missing. The cleaner had removed everything and it was finally found dumped in the left luggage area with all my suitcase zips still open and stuff falling out... things like my car keys! I needed to take medication in the room before leaving and to use the bathroom and the time it took to find the case (staff were not immediately available and were behind a door, the buzzers on reception don't work) meant I actually missed my train! I was very upset as you can imagine and the staff member (Gino), who I reported this to said they didn't know why it had happened. I'm still angry that this happened. If check out isn't until 12:00 and I left a do not disturb hanging on the door... NOBODY should have entered. NOBODY should have cleaned the room and NOBODY should have touched my belongings. I will be calling next week, once guest relations phone line is open, to make a formal complaint. This is disgusting service for a hotel. It is a huge breech of trust in both security and privacy. It is absolutely not good enough.
