포티 온 퍼트니 로드 베드 앤드 브렉퍼스트(Inn on Putney Road)

Don't we all wish we had more time? Fran and I were on a four-state road trip to see family and friends and had the good fortune to pick Brattleboro's Inn on Putney Road as one of our overnight stays. The Inn is a nearly century-old French-style mansion initially built for the head of the Brattleboro Retreat. Each of the six rooms has its bathroom and is well-appointed and comfortable for sleeping and sitting. The large room on the first floor is a must-do for reading, playing board games, playing pool, or sitting and watching the fire. Breakfast is amazing and comparable to the best of restaurant fare. Alas, family in Albany were waiting for us. We wish we had more time. Upon leaving the Inn, we stopped at the Brattleboro Retreat hiking area. It is open to the public and has beautiful trails of varying difficulty. Finally, while hiking at the Retreat, I realized I had left my water bottle at the Inn. By coincidence, at that moment, Paul, the inn's owner, called to mention my water bottle. When he learned I was hiking, he said not to worry, as he was on his way into town and would leave the bottle by my car. Not only is Paul a master chef, he is a genuinely nice person. We do this multistate tour a couple of times a year. Next time, we'll spend more time at the Inn!

We stayed in the Hummingbird room in May, 2024 and had a wonderful time. The property is gorgeous, inside and out. We especially enjoyed the garden, graced by magnolia trees with beautiful, fragrant blossoms. Highly recommend a sunset stroll through the back yard, overlooking the West River Bay. Paul and Judy are warm and welcoming hosts. They've completely renovated the inn and made it incredibly cozy and charming. Paul is also an amazing chef so breakfasts were the highlight of our stay. This was our second stay here. Very spacious and comfortable. Beautiful property located on the river. It is convenient (5 min drive ) to downtown Bratt restaurants and shops. Great breakfast . Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Jack & Dolores Green

We spent a week at this B&B which was my first time at that type of accommodation. We loved it. Paul, the host, was very thoughtful and kind and a wonderful chef. The breakfast really spoiled us. The room itself, cabin #6, was perfect and we were very comfortable. I highly recommend this Inn and we will be back. The location was an easy walk to downtown Brattleboro and some good hiking.

We stayed two nights at this Inn and had a lovely time. The property is very beautiful with a small trail behind it for walking, and a gazebo for sitting. It is beautifully landscaped. Breakfasts were delicious and served with elegance. We enjoyed that it was walking distance to town so we could just stroll to dinner, and the historic movie theatre. My husband enjoyed playing their guitar and our room was filled with organic healthy treats, books and there were videos and games available, including a pool table. It is a beautiful house and inn overall. Paul is a very warm and friendly host and was most helpful. Thanks to Paul and Judy. They have created a beautiful place to stay while visiting Brattleboro.

We loved our stay here! The room was great, multi-course breakfast was incredible, and the fireplace was lovely! The two women running things are so friendly and fun to talk to. They accommodated our gluten allergy- WE HAD GLUTEN FREE STUFFED FRENCH TOAST! 😍 (I also want to make a little noise for brûlée grapefruit and French press coffee!) This place is located close to some great restaurants and shops. Someone came and did massages for all of us on site. We loved the view of the water and we didn’t go far down the trail but it was still cool. 10 out of 10 recommend!

My husband and I had a quick stay at the Inn on Putney Rd on our way from NYC to NH. We wish our trip was longer so we could enjoy the Inn even more because it has such a wonderful experience. Paul and Judy are just lovely people and our room was very nice. Breakfast was a 10 out of 10. We will be back for sure. Book a room here!!

We had a wonderful time staying at the Inn on Putney Road. Paul and his staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome, and did so without being overly pushy. We stayed in the carriage house, which had a tub and fireplace, as well as beautiful circular windows. Breakfasts were delicious and featured a lot of fresh fruit. One of us is vegetarian and Paul was able to substitute plant-based meat. Overall, we'd highly recommend the Inn on Putney Road. Paul's hospitality made us feel welcome and it's clear he cares a lot about running a good business.
