Mount Airy also has a large granite quarry close to downtown. If you love art, the murals that are painted on the sides of several buildings downtown, are a beautiful sight. Andy's new mural is on Moore Street.We have several, amazing walking paths that wind along the river downtown. Bring your sneakers or a bicycle.Pilot Mtn. Park is a 15 minute drive south on hwy 52. The views are amazing and there are several hiking trails. The Blue Ridge Parkway is a 15 minute drive north of us. We also have several wineries close by too. The mountain tops can be seen from the house and the sunsets are usually beautiful.The 10 minute drive to downtown is a straight shot down state road 89. It's the best of both worlds, country setting and close to town and shopping.I have been a VRBO host for 15 years. We do have a tenant in the back, basement unit and his parking is at the bottom of the left driveway in the carport.
