The cabin is only 2 miles from the park as a crow flies, and just 3 from the nearest trailhead, and one of our favorite hikes. We are about 1 mile from East Glacier Park and its shops, restaurants, Amtrak station, and lodge, the gateway to the gorgeous and quiet Two Medicine region of the park (~25 minutes to the two medicine entrance). Take a 45 minute drive to Saint Mary to check out the east entrance of the renowned Going-To-The-Sun road. Or continue on another 30 minutes to the Many Glacier Hotel. The West entrance is 55 minutes away. Plus, we are only 75 minutes from the Glacier Intl Airport. As far as insects go, spring is a popular time for mosquitos. Bring layers and bug spray. They mostly choose to hang out around dusk/dawn, so we try to stay inside during those times. They can sneak into the cabin occasionally, but they are harmless.
