Saltspray is located a straight 6 miles to the entrance of Acadia National Park. Miles and miles of trails to explore. Rent bikes and ride the carriage roads stopping at Jordan Pond house for their famous popovers on the lawn. There are 26 Mt. Peaks to hike. You can also hop on the free Island Explorer Bus which stops directly across the street at the Narrows Campground. Hadley Point beach is located just 2 miles away. This is an excellent beach for Kayaking which you can rent right there, evening bon fires or just taking in our beautiful sunsets. Sweet Pea Cafe and winery 2 mi. This is very special house for me and my husband. Years ago I used to live next door working the crazy summer hours, 3 jobs and trying to build a better future for myself.Then I met someone special, yes him... So it happened on a date, we went for a long walk, on the way back to my home then, we stopped at the corner of this very house, and we stayed, talked and giggled for hours... This is where we kissed for the very first time!Thus the name "The Reminisce", hopefully you folks are going to make just as great memories here as we did!This home had originally being build in the mid 1900s.The house had gone a lot of chopped renovations and changes over the years. It just never felt complete....We took on this project as a great challenge, we preserved the shell and solid bones from this tired old home and did absolute gut remodel to bring it back to beauty.Just about everything is absolutely brand new or being brought to it's once new glory.When creating the design- we were trying to achieve the charm of an old house, but still contemporary to fit the needs of a modern family.The interior:Entry way of the house is all Italian tiled mud room with heated floor, where you can live your clothes and shoes .Please- be mindful do not wear shoes in the house!Everywhere we installed brand new stained white oak hardwood floors.The home opens up immediately to the dining room, living room and fully equipped kitchen, majority of the first floor is open concept and spacious.Dining room fits comfortably 8 people.There is a nice electric fireplace to bring up the atmosphere in this space, 60" TV, and the kitchen welcomes you with large island able to fit 8 guests on bar stools. Tucked into a closet you will also find our stacked laundry and drier for your convenience. Detergent is located in the cleaners closet by the stairs.Two of our bedrooms- both with king size beds are also located on the first floor, together with office/chill area by the back french door leading to the back yard.Across the dining room by the stairs is the master bedroom.It has the original all brick fireplace outfitted with electric unit for ambiance, 55" TV and has a desk as well if you need to get some work done. You will be able to reach most eastern MDI hiking locations in Acadia National Park within 15 minutes from this downtown Bar Harbor location. When you return home after a day of hiking, you can park in your own off-street parking spot directly in front of your condo... and walk virtually anywhere in The village of Bar Harbor in 10 minutes! This is crucial because ANP has become one of the highest demand locations in the United States: Without dedicated parking it is near impossible to visit the village or dine at one of our many restaurants. Alternately you can bike to the park with the fully charged eBikes and skip the traffic congestion entirely!The Village contains 99% of all restaurants, shops, bars and cafés on the entire island…and they are all within a 10 minute walk from the condo! The lovely solid wood frame comes from Tuft and Needle. All bedding, including down pillows and comforter are from Boll and Branch- the best available bedding and linen you can buy! I installed a new heat/AC unit in May 2023 so you can keep the window closed at night if you prefer.It also includes a small desk with a 34-inch Apple XDR (HDR) Display, keyboard, and left and right-handed mice as well as an OWC Thunderbolt Pro charging and media station for XD, CFAST, and CF Express cards. I also provide a new B/W laser printer (paper and backup cartridges included) as well as a quality portable Epson document scanner. The internet connection is 350+mbps and is highly reliable. I leverage the best available modem/routers/WIFI from Nighthawk. I have a brand new Herman Miller Aeron chair with a nice glass floor mat.The two new eBikes are very easy to ride and have superb hydraulic brakes too. I use them to access distant locations as well as largely inaccessible carriage roads built by the Duponts and Rockefellers in the 1920s. This is the only property in Bar Harbor to include eBikes with the property rental! The bikes are engineered so that you can allow the bike to assist you while peddling as much or as little as you desire. I have high quality helmets available for your use. Safety first! Enjoy your morning coffee on the sunny patio, fill your day with hiking, biking and sea kayaking, walk 10 minutes to a slew of exceptional restaurants, and return home to watch your favorite movies on my Apple TV(600+ movies to choose from including all 2025 Oscar nominees).
