It’s 12:45 AM and I just want to go to sleep. It’s been quite the trip. AC compressor went out on my truck. I’m fighting a horrible ear/sinus infection, and 1 1/2hrs ago after getting out of the shower I realized that the housekeeper had inadvertently thrown away my contact lens case. I called the front desk. Outta luck. So I got dressed and drove to the only open *****tores at this hour. Rite Aid on State street /15th.
Let’s also back up to yesterday when I checked in. Calvin is the name of the desk attendant. He gave me two keys to which I hopped the elevator and then walked all the way to the far end of the second floor. The keys did not work so I walked all the way back down to get them corrected. I commented to him at that moment, (when I realized that it still had not been cleaned up) that there was a broken glass makeup bottle on the concrete directly in front of the main entrance doors that had been there since i initially arrived. He acted oblivious and said that he would get it cleaned up. I went back up to my room, got settled and then needed to go back to my loaner vehicle once more. The glass bottle is still there. I then walked back into the lobby, went to the desk and asked him if I could borrow a dustpan and a broom. He clearly had no clue why I was asking for one because he found it and handed it to me while he watched me sweep the mess up. Embarrassed, he said, “I can do that” to which I said “you’re right you could, but you didn’t”
