Suites by Vilar América

HORRIBLE - STAY AWAY! TERRIBLE TERRIBLE STAY. Please, for your own sake, avoid this hotel at all cost. I booked the Premium Suite, which was supposed to have “sound isolated walls” and it turned into a nightmare. They have a water pump that shakes the rooms every 10 minutes, and even so, we only had hot water for 5 min at a time most of the time. For 4 whole days and nights they had active constructions next door with guys with jack hammers, and we could hear the people talking through these super thin “sound isolated walls”. The internet’s wifi is so restricted that we were unable to work our day jobs properly. The “smart” TV was so cheap and old that the smart functions were completely unusable. The advertised “bicycle rental” isn’t there, and when asked about it they were going to “get back to me about that”, which they never did. I all these cases we complained to the hotel staff without they being able to do anything proper about it and when I asked then to address the manager about this, I never got an answer. I was never asked how my stay was or if they could compensate me in any way, and in the end they rejected it in general. Please do yourself a favor and do not ho to that hotel. It looks good at first, but it’s a door yo misery. - A frequent traveler.

This was our second stay with Vilar America. At the start of our 3 week Columbia trip we stayed across the street at Hotel Vilar America. We enjoyed our stay in both properties. The Suite room was very spacious (dining table, living room, sleeping area, swivel tv). The bathroom/shower large and well stocked. There wasn't always very hot water but it didn't prevent us from enjoying a shower at the end of the day. The breakfast (served at the Hotel Vilar America) is a tasty, fresh and generous buffet. The restaurant is spacious, the seating comfortable and the decor attractive. The staff could not be more accommodating in all aspects: at both receptions (each shift) and at the breakfast restaurant. The location is convenient for eating in the neighborhood, stopping by a minimarket or supermarket or accessing an ATM. Uber access is also quick and convenient.

Great location, lots of friendly staff. Good breakfast, clean rooms. Kitchenettes very dated. Rooms overall very spacious. Great value. Not giving 5 stars only because water pressure in the showers was abysmal, our suite lost power at some point and the beds are all really short...no way someone 6 foot or taller will fit.

Three stars by global standards and four by bogota levels. Staff is very nice and helpful. Area is safe. Breakfast is decent. Place smells a little damp and sheets are not as clean as we like but it’s way better than most places around. I won’t mind staying again. Just not USA or Europe 4 star level

We had the pleasure of getting the apartment, and it was just amazing. It's close to a lot of things and if you need it the hotel will help you with transport

Nice, clean property, friendly staff, and very good breakfast buffet each morning.
