From the moment you arrive to drop your car at the secure parking the level of care and service starts. The staff are all amazingly trained. Little things like “ can you remind me of your room?” makes you feels like they already know you. Good is amazing, particularly the breakfasts. Only a small hotel but one of the best. Can only give positive feedback. Well done to all of the team at the hotel.

We had a gorgeous cream tea at the Burgh Island Hotel on a gloriously sunny day. The service was excellent and the cream tea was lovely. A highlight was the best scones we have ever eaten in our lives (and we've eaten a LOT of scones!). Full marks.

Wonderful hotel with excellent staff. Went for our anniversary and it lived up to all our expectations. The Tony & B suite is huge and splendid, and all the furniture throughout is delightful. It was a shame the mermaid pool was closed, but have another delicious martini and it’s soon forgotten!

From the moment we arrived at the parking location until we were dropped off again we were made to feel very special. The service is what stands out, even though the location and building is obviously amazing. Yes it is expensive, but as an overall experience it is definitely worth it and will be something we will remember for a long time to come.

the noise from above our room of electric saw and banging was disturbing. As was our balcony being covered in wood shaving. the bedroom door to the balcony would not open and the bathroom door to the balcony was very difficult to open. hospitality was excellent as was the attentiveness of the staff., who were all very polite and helpful. When booking make sure you know exactly what you are doing as it is costly to alter it.

Hard to put into words what a magical experience a trip to this hotel is. You are met on the mainland by superbly helpful drivers, in our case the lovely Nick, or you are taken to the jetty by the unique sea tractor depending on the tide. The minute you arrive at the gate, you are immediately transported into another world of leisure, relaxation, decadence and sheer indulgence. Not a cheap experience by any means, but absolutely worth taking the plunge for as an extravagance to celebrate a special occasion, or to simply soothe frazzled nerves. The setting is beautiful, the hotel is beautiful, an elegant old lady lost in charm and splendour, the food is exquisite, the cocktails amazing and the staff are wonderful. There is both nothing to do and everything to do. We chose to do nothing, but we could have played croquet, swum in the deep and beautiful Mermaid Pool, indulged in a spa treatment or two, or played in the billiard room. Our stay was more sedate ... basically just drinking cocktails all day (hand crafted and the invention of the gorgeous Izzie) and eating the most sumptuous feasts served by Farad and the team. All the while Head of Guest Relations, Simon, kept an eye on proceedings and ensured that we wanted for nothing during our time. We are so very lucky to be able to treat ourselves to such a perfect couple of days. We wish that everyone could have a similar experience. If you are debating whether to splash out on a stay, do it, you will not regret it.

The most wonderful afternoon tea experience. The staff treated each guest like royalty and appeared to be proud to work at such an exquisite hotel. The food and beverage section was delicious and fresh.

To say that Burgh Island excels at customer service is a serious understatement- the team are all responsible for creating magic and making dreams come true. From the moment you are met in the carpark, nothing is too much trouble and you are made to feel like you are the most important person in the world. The hotel also exceeds all expectations. We have all seen pictures of its Art Deco elegance but the reality goes so far beyond merely period accurate decoration and furniture and quite literally casts you back in time to be part of the era many of us have read so much about. The food was delicious. The cocktails, perfect, the views from every room were breathtaking BUT it is the team that creates the real magic. Thank you for making our visit so very special. Crossing back to the mainland was quite a shock!!

A special place, in a special setting. The combination of sea tractor, beautiful cocktail bar, and conservatory area and patio area, lovely bedrooms, and stunning views make this a very special place to stay.
