오텔 르 소바쥬(Hotel Restaurant Spa le Sauvage)

My husband and I very much enjoyed our romantic weekend in this beautifully restored grand 18th century building that hugs Besançon Citadelle. There are unique architectural and decorative touches everywhere, and the service is excellent without being at all snooty. Our room had a view over the garden and rolling hills in the distance. We did the spa, which was tastefully appointed but a bit overpriced for a (large) hot tub and a steam room at 35 euros per person. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of fine local products served in an exquisite dining room. Parking is 15 euros/day, but probably recommended as there was no free parking nearby. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed for dinner since it was the off season. Altogether a lovely experience that I heartily recommend.

Located in the heart of Besançon, the hotel is fully loaded with history. You like high ceilings, old mansions, wooden flooring or huge staircases, look no further ! The rooms are nicely decorated but have no A/C nor coffee machine. Restaurant is very good !

What a special place. This hotel deserves the highest kudos for several reasons. Let me enumerate a few, a friendly hard working staff (more on that); a first rate dining room, get a reservation for sure, that doubles as a breakfast room in the morning. Well appointed rooms but not that many which makes it an intimate place high on the hill above the city. It’s not all the way to the Citadel but it’s not far. When ongoing national protests forced us to change our transfer meeting point, the staff volunteered to shuttle our luggage in a personal car to a new meeting point. Vive La France!

A good, comfortable and quaint hotel. It was a convent in the long and distant past. Very helpful receptionist who booked a restaurant for us. They have their own restaurant on certain days but we wanted a simpler menu. It has a good location for the centre of the town and the Citadelle which is certainly worth a visit. Breakfast was also good. Not much space for clothes in the room however we managed.

We come here for many yeas at least once a year for business/pleasure. To our great joy it now has its own restaurant. Ate lunch there and simply loved it! We were not as happy with our room this time though. We always book the same one facing a little courtyard, having a table and chairs to sit outside. Usually a quiet hotel we had the bad luck that a kind of family reunion was held there too. These people even turned the courtyard into a makeshift dining room and cooked (one of the rooms has a very small kitchen). That meant noise in the backyard until late in the night and small children playing foot ball in front of our sitting area. Had to use earplugs to sleep. Did mention it at reception for course. I does not hold us back from coming again. We already booked for December and hope that the hotel is the usual quiet and serene place again that we like so much.

Die Begrüßung war sehr nett Der Rezeptionist hat uns 3 Zimmer gezeigt Das Hotel ist sehr gepflegt ,sauber älterer Still aber mir gefällts . Die Betten im Standart Zimmer etwas klein ,aber super Matratzen. Eine tolle Aussicht auf die Altstadt. Leider hatte es in der heutigen Zeit nur französische Fernseh-Sender obwohl Internationale Gäste verkehren. Die Bewirtschaftung war excelent,wir bekamen obwohl die Küche zu war etwas zu essen Danke wir kommen gerne wieder

Die Zufahrt zum Hotel führt durch schmale Gassen, man sollte kein ängstlicher Fahrer sein. Doch das Haus ist wunderschön. Alles sehr liebevoll und geschmackvoll gestaltet. Zimmer sehr komfortabel. Netter kleiner Garten, wo der Hund ein bisschen Auslauf hat. Auch das Restaurant hat uns sehr gut gefallen, Menu gut und preiswert. Angestellte sehr freundlich. Ein sehr zu empfehlendes Hotel.

Très bien situé, établissement historique bien entretenu, propre et original mais très peu lumineux, en tout cas par mauvais temps! Personnel très sympathique et à disposition. Pour un 4 étoiles et au vue du prix de la nuitée, le nombre de prestation à payer à part est étonnant : le petit déjeuner, le spa et même le parking! Pour ce standing, il manque également, à mon avis, un mini-bar dans la chambre.

Freundlicher Service, beeindruckendes Haus. Leider sehr hellhörig, man kann durch die Türe normale Gespräche/Fernseher aus weiter entfernten Zimmern deutlich hören, wenn jemand im Zimmer über einem läuft, hört man dies ebenfalls sehr deutlich. Auch gut zu hören durch geschlossene Fenster rauchende lärmende Gäste auf der Barterrasse. Sehr unkomfortabel war das Bad, ausgestattet mit einer Badewanne ohne Duschwand und nicht vorhandener Aufhängung für den Duschkopf. Es gibt wohl Zimmer mit Duschen, die größere Anzahl sind aber wie beschrieben.
