Travel with a group of friends to Beppu but only 4 of us decided to stay at Amanek for 2 nights. This was the best decision ever as we were closed to the JR station, eateries, Tokiwa shopping mall, Donki and the beach were within walking distance. Only few staff could speak English. Those who speak Japanese only also try their best to serve the guest. I am impressed by how clean and new the whole hotel is. Best of all, I love the free flow of juices & beverages. You could also do take away in the UCC coffee disposible cup. Love the choice of either western or local breakfast with free flow of side dishes. I am surprised by how big the bedroom is and spacious bathroom. The gym equipment tho basic, are new & in good condition. The onsen is clean & modern & I love the warm rooftop pool with an awesome view! Amanek is thoughtful to provide guest with a basket to hold all your onsen needs. Upon check out, I was overcharged for my 2 days of breakfast. The staff was quick to rectify the problem & refunded me on the spot. Yes, would definitely stay in Amanek again in my next visit to Beppu! Thank you for the awesome stay!

Overall, I felt the hotel was very nicely done with great local touches while still keeping an international atmosphere. I also wanted to point out the great flexibility of the hotel, allowing me to change my meal reservations from 3 dinners at Elements (I was on a package deal) to one at Elements and combining the remaining two meals at Elements to a dinner at Atelier. This allowed me to not have to dine at the same restaurant as well as opening up a slot for me to explore a local restaurant. However, there were two things that I'd like to point out that the hotel can improve upon. The first is the staffing at the club lounge (and in general) is not enough. There were many moments where I was left to wait, to the point where using standard facilities (like the check-in counter, or breakfast at Elements) would have been a more positive experience. Breakfast on 12/21 was where the understaffing really showed, where it took over an hour to complete breakfast; many guests left in the middle of their meal since service was horribly slow. However, the second point us what I would really want the hotel to work on - CoVID countermeasures. Largely, two things I'd like to point out. (1) Temperature screening us inconsistent. I was checked when I first arrived, but never anytime afterwards (or should I say, the thermometer station was unmanned). (2) During my meal at Atelier, my wife and I noticed that the staff (He was Italian, I think his name is Marco?) preparing the dishes (in the open kitchen) prepping a sauce, tasting it with the same spoon which was quickly rinsed it under the faucet and returned into the mixing bowl. I pointed this out to one of the servers (Japanese male, responsible for serving and explaining the dishes). This is where I felt the hotel can improve on - in detail, three things. (i) The Japanese server proceeded to quietly scold the staff in front of me, I felt that was not a great experience both for myself and the staff. (ii) Nothing was cleared. After the scolding (and then the staff responding back that he did not put the spoon back in) none of the utensils were changed and no follow up. I guess there is no trust in what a customer points out. And finally (iii) I felt that this is at the fault of the hotel for not putting in proper operation guidelines.A person putting together a meal will need to taste it, to make sure it's good. If the hotel were to put in operational guidelines to ensure tasting can be done while still making it very obvious that it is hygienic, I would not have to be writing this email. Needless to say, our dinner experience was ruined that night. I actually shared the above comment with IHG Guest Relations (on 25 Dec), which the agent was extremely prompt on getting back to me and assured that I would get a response back from the hotel about it within 48 hours. 고가에있어 베츠쿠의 거리가 내려다했습니다. 코로나의 영향을 비어 있었는지 방을 업그레이드 해 주셔서 대절 목욕도 무료로 사용할 수 대만족이었습니다. 아마 오래된 호텔 겠지 만, 깨끗이 개조되어있어 편안합니다. 단, 방 화장실과 목욕 만, 거품 일까? 라는 낡은 디자인이었던 것이 신경이 쓰였습니다 (청소는되어있었습니다). 밥도 개인 실에서 아이들이 시끄러운 데 괜찮 았고, 코로나의 영향을 위해 식사가 한 번 나오고 있었지만, 아이가 질리지 시작 전에 먹고 버릴 때문에 오히려 감사했습니다. 온천의 온도도 기분 좋고 최고였습니다.

리조트 호텔이라고 하는 것으로 기대에 숙박했습니다. 체크인 시에는 코로나 대책으로서 검온과 건강조사가 있어, 목욕과 식사는 분산되게 되어 있었습니다. 그 때문에 저녁 식사는 17시와 20시 밖에 비어 있지 않다고 하는 것으로, 부득이 17시에 부탁했습니다. (너무 끔찍한 대응입니다) 그 후 17시 30 분과 19시가 비어 있다는 연락이 있었으므로 19시에 변경 받았습니다. 그만큼 코로나 대책이 철저하고 있을까 생각했습니다만, 저녁·조식 모두 넓은 레스토랑에 비해 자리를 분산시키지 않고, 옆에 있던 자리에서 받았습니다. (중반의 코로나 대응입니다) 식사는 가격도 높기 때문에 저녁 · 아침 식사와도 맛있게 받았습니다. 이번 객실은 4층이었기 때문에, 객실로부터의 야경은 호텔 앞에 큰 나무가 있어, 별로 볼 수 없었습니다. 프런트의 대응은 코로나 대책으로 사무적인 것은 알겠지만, 식사 시간 등 너무 차가운 느낌이 들고 더 이상 숙박하지 않을까 생각합니다. 전날 숙박한 숙소는, 시설은 노후화하고 있는 것의 따뜻한 대접을 해 주셨으므로, 그 때와의 갭이 컸습니다.

여행을 하면서 우리는 캠핑과 같은 와일드한 경험을 하고 싶었지만 동시에 편안함도 느끼고 싶었습니다. 몇 가지 조사 끝에 우리는 2022년 7월에 개장한 Grand Verde Resort라는 새로 개장한 리조트를 발견했습니다. 숙박 시설은 개별 객실이나 캠프 시설과 유사한 주택과 비슷하지만 전용 욕실이 추가되어 편리했습니다. 하이라이트 중 하나는 우리 방 바로 옆에서 바비큐 저녁 식사를 즐기고 저녁에는 모닥불 서비스를 즐길 수 있는 기회였습니다. 리조트에는 아름다운 초원 주변의 그림 같은 전망을 감상할 수 있는 대중목욕탕과 사우나실도 마련되어 있습니다. 또한 손님들이 양에게 먹이를 줄 수 있는 작은 농장이 있어 전체적인 환경의 매력을 더해주었습니다.
