Tree of Life Resort

My family & I had a wonderful 2-day stay in August 2025 at Tree of Life Bentota, the room was clean,and well thought out, the pool was just the right size ,the staff & manager were friendly and helpful, making our stay welcome.This location is an excellent base down south for a family friend holiday.

We stayed at the Tree of Life at the end of our three week holiday in Sri-Lanka. We had stayed at a number of different places all around the island at different price and quality points. The tree of Life was safely the best quality accommodation and at a mid price point. The place is small - just 4 rooms described as bungalows. What this means is a generously sized bedroom with an even more generous lay sized on suite. The place is kept spotlessly clean and the staff delightful. They as leo have their own Tuk Tuk to ferry you on short journeys. The pool whilst not big at 15 metres is stylish and very well maintained. Breakfast is great and they also offer both lunch and dinner should you require- both at a high standard (and catering for a western palate) although if you want what the locals eat best venture to Cafe n Chill at the end of the street where a rice and curry meal with all the trimmings come in at 550 rupees (£1.40!) which was the best rice and curry offering we had during our whole trip (and we travelled the whole island). The Tree of Life is a gem of a place and one you will find hard to beat at any price point but given we paid about £70 per night we thought this was pretty reasonable and compared well price wise with the other accommodation during our trip.

This was our final destination in Sri Lanka, and what a fabulous choice it was! The chalets are just beautiful with the most stunning bathrooms. The pool is great and there’s a Tuk Tuk on hand if you need one. Great freshly prepared food too. The staff will go to the end of the earth to help you in any way. Each and every one of them ha made our stay here a precious memory. Thank you all so much xxx

The staff are so welcome and friendly, the manager is so helpful booking tours and even massages as well as providing tuk tuk service. The rooms are clean and so nice with the most amazing outdoor bathroom design, I wish I had time to stay longer and will book here again when I return to Sri Lanka. Highly recommend!

We were searching for a good place for 4 people but due to festive season almost all the sea fronted hotels were booked. Then my daughter came across this place with only 5 little chalets situated 1000m away from beach. It had very good reviews so we booked the place. It was amazingly comfortable place which was furnised and decoraed with a good taste. The bathroom was a novelty with its feeling of outdoor and shower giving a feeling of a water fall. Pool is small but ideal to frolic with kids. Even the garden area was well looked after to give a pleasing appearance. The staff is very courteous and helpful. They offer a free tuk tuk ride to the near by beach. Meals you have to order separately but tasty and reasonably priced. The fruits and fruit juices including the welcome drink they offered were of good quality . In the morning the first sight I saw was an Indian paradise flycatcher perched on the little tree next to the pool. It made my day.

We have spent entirely memorable 6 nights at the Tree of Life Resort, Bentota. Probably were lucky on being there at the low season, but have enjoyed every minute at the place. It is a brand new tastefully developed property with an absolutely magnificent, friendly, accommodating and professional Team working to meet and exceed any of the (reasonable) customers requirements. Rooms are reasonably spacious, clean with all required and expected facilities. Internet working good enough even for the overseas zoom meetings. Don't get confused with the location, if looking for the beach time. Free of charge tuk-tuk will get you there (and back upon whatsapp text message) within less than 5 minutes. Finally the pool is there for a very convenient in-house sunbathing. In house prepared food is excellent for both: breakfast and dinner. Within our 6 night stay we did not dare to think of seeking any alternative dinner option (even though there are plenty within 5 min tuk-tuk ride). Overall it is great value for money and worth every penny. And the last, but not the least, there is lot of the choice of reasonably priced tours available offered/arranged by the Team. Alongside with the Colombo airport transfer.
