Very clean hotel with a great breakfast selection. The service was good and everyone was very friendly. I only stayed one night but I would definitely recommend it for some peace and quiet. My only 2 issues were: The tv in my room didn’t work WiFi code was incorrect on the information sheet in the room

The staff are friendly. We had a lovely stay. The breakfast was good.

What a nigh**are this place is!!! Not a 4 star. Barely pushing 2 and that’s being generous. When we arrived we got checked into a room with a running toilet and no key. Staff treated us like we were an inconvenience upon our arrival, not even making eye contact or helping us out at all. The lady initially tried to get us to stay in a room without a key, saying “you can lock it from the inside.” (And how does that work when we leave…?) We ultimately had to move rooms because of the noise of the toilet (as she did find the key), but I almost had a bad fall on a tile that is totally broken and a major hazard. New room has ONE towel. Staff wouldn’t get us a second when asked, so we had to go back into the unlocked old room to raid their bathroom just to get one. (That room also only had one towel). Rock hard bed. Shower that blasts you with freezing cold and hot water. No face cloths or tissues. Terribly laid out room that is very inconvenient to move around due to bulky, excess furniture. ANTS everywhere in the bathroom. Broken fridge with a horrific smell like something dead. Outlets that don’t even work. But all of that could be categorized as an annoyance. What made this a nigh**are was they have a locked gate that you can literally never find staff to open. One day when leaving we had to run around for ages looking for someone as we were locked in and we were made late. Then on our last night, we went out to get dinner and got back around 10:45pm. In **Torrential** downpour. So much rain the streets were flooding. We ring the bell 3x, no answer. Called the number probably about 15 times, no answer. We were locked out in the middle of the night, no way to access the room we paid for with all our stuff in it!! We resorted to Yelling and Screaming until our throats hurt. Shook the gate. Violently shook the gate, trying to make enough noise for someone to come. No one came. Kept screaming. I lost it and swore a lot on their answering machine but I was really pushed to the brink by then as this was truly insane. Freezing, soaked through, our dinner bag had broken as it was so wet. Finally, after ages, someone finally opened the gate…right as we were trying to figure out how to jump a gate with security wire all around. What a joke!!! We will never be back. Invest a little and give your guests a damn code so they can operate the gate themselves. Stupid!!!

My husband and I wanted a peaceful start to 2024 so we decided on a getaway by the lake. We spent 2 days at Lake view Boutique where our needs were met by the amazing staff and our expectations were exceeded by the peaceful surroundings. I unfortunately had to work during this time and the cozy little office space in our room along with a perfect wifi connection made it easy. A tip: There is a breath taking lake right across from the Boutique so go prepared with your braai gear lol.

We had really good 2 days pool was refreshing as it was hot.We had a conjoined room though TV and Aircon didn't work in one the other rooms Aircon was more than adequate to cool both rooms.Staff are helpful and friendly.We had nice breakfast didn't use site for lunch or dinner.Easy to find and secure.Beds were comfortable,working mini fridge in both rooms and tea facilities.Would definitely stay again.

We stayed in Room 5 , the painting was falling off the wall hanging at a angle,the bulb in the lamp on the desk the desk was broken looked like it hanged on a thread, The towles looked old, the tv had no channels to watch, the curtains weren't hung properly.. When I wanted to take a shower before our flight back to Fiji the water pressure was very low and I had a ice cold shower...Sorry but it was one of the worst places we stayed in our trip to SA

I enjoyed every minute you should've ur restaurant open 24hrs for lunch/dinner a very beautiful, unique & classy place to be best receptionist you've with smile *willing to assist us anyway ur breakfast best ever

Nice place to stay while in transit. Got a good night sleep after traveling for a few days. Beds were super comfy! Especially enjoyed the option of the bath as my daughter does not like showering! Also have generator which provides the essential power needs.

We had great help from a lovely lady, Boni, confirming our booking and maintaining touch with us prior to our arrival. Unfortunately the stay did not go as well as we wished. Whilst still en-route we were informed that about 40 children had been booked in to the Boutique Hotel and so there may be some noise experienced in the afternoon. However, that evening over 40 young adults arrived. I guess their ages to be more mid 20’s than children. The noise that evening was bearable but when they started to stand outside our bedrooms at 0430 onwards in the morning and talk loudly it was far too much. I asked them to have consideration for others but they then started singing as well - 0500 in the morning. Ridiculous! We later found out these were all new staff in training for Depar**ent of Home Affairs!!! The dinner was actually very nice buffet except that no desert was delivered as we had been informed would happen. Bedrooms were very comfortable and beds nice. Another issue was that when showering that night there was only 1 towel in our room for 2 people. The night manager apologised saying that all the towels had been used and were in the laundry but she could give us one the next morning. Didn’t help when my wife was already in the shower. But who in their right mind books over 40 young trainees into a so-called BOUTIQUE Hotel and then has no consideration for other paying guests? Totally unacceptable. Instead of staying the 2 nights as we had booked we left immediately after 0800 and didn’t even stay for breakfast. My recommendation to anybody looking to stay at Lakeside Boutique Hotel is STAY AWAY. You will never see us or any friends and family ever again. The only rose in the whole establishment is Boni, who went out of her way to accommodate us and make our stay pleasant. Congratulations Boni, as I told you when booking out– you are the star of the show.
