Safari365 arranged this Hotel for a stopover on our way to Kruger, and what a place it was. The location just out of Dullstroom was ideal and being winter and cold the fireplaces in the rooms was fantastic after enjoying a well prepared meal in their Restaurant. I could not fault anything about this place and highly recommend it for an overnight stop and for two or three days,

. Beautiful, peaceful, tranquil, well maintained property. Walks and hikes. We stayed self-catering and also enjoyed excellent service,food on occasion in hotel, including a surprise birthday cake. Visited the rehabilitation centre for birds of prey. Not far away is the quaint town of Dullstroom, Beer,coffee brewed at same place! Dullstroom parkrun was a challenge

We spent a weekend away for our anniversary. The service from all the staff was excellent. They were friendly and attended to all our requests. They went out of their way to make our weekend special. The room was spacious with a large balcony overlooking one of the lakes. The views were beautiful. The food for both breakfast and dinner was very good especially the trout. There was a lovely fireplace in the bedroom and a supply of wood was left if needed. There are no air conditioners or fans in the rooms and I dont know how hot it gets in the summer. The fireplace kept the room warm and cozy just a little chilly in the early morning. A special thank you to the staff for making our celebration so special.

A wonderful hotel that I wish I could’ve spent more than just one night at! The room was so cozy with the fireplace, the view from the room was stunning and the property was beautiful. Nothing more you could ask for. The four course dinner was DELICIOUS (the menu changes every night and when we were there I had the a leek soup - one of the best I’ve ever had, mushroom fricasee, and trout stuffed with risotto. My husband had the springbok carpaccio and the kudu steak which were both delicious as well). My massage with Shanon was exactly what I needed, even the view from the spa was gorgeous. The staff were super friendly and were so kind as to light our fire while we were out at dinner. 100% would return to and would recommend (though I am inclined to gate-keep this little spot)!

The Walkersoon Spa and Hotel is our favorite place and close to Johannesburg. The hills and lakes and all the wonderful surroundings, we always enjoy them. Also the restaurant with delicious food and is served from the very friendly staff. We came many times and we went there many times and had the best experience.

This was the perfect first stop for our South African road trip. Thankfully we had booked 3 nights to completely unwind and relax following our long journey from London. The entrance to the estate is fully secured and guarded 24 hours. Once through the gates, the long winding road which is well signposted, takes you through the estate of well spaced private residences, some of which are huge. On arrival at the lodge, Alex, the manager was there to meet and greet us and from that moment on, his attentiveness was first class. Never overpowering but enough to show he actually cared about our stay. Our first evening was a joy, listening to the sound of the toads, frogs and ducks from our veranda outside our beautiful room. The food here is incredible. So beautifully presented and fantastic menu choices. We indulged fully in the great choice of SA wine too! We hiked to the top of the ridge, on the estate, which took us longer than the expected 40 minutes but being silly Brits, we set off late morning as it started to heat up. It was a bit of a struggle in the heat and high altitude and we are in our 60's but we made it eventually! Well worth the effort for not only the views but also the wildlife over the ridge. I horse rode for the first time in many years at the onsite Dullstroom Riding centre which can be booked separately and is incredibly cheap. My husband had full intentions on fly fishing which is included and rods available in reception but time ran out and before we knew it, it was time to leave for our next destination. We could have easily stayed on for another few days as we both loved it here and were more relaxed as the time went on. We'll definitely return if we fly into Johannesburg and want to have instant relaxation in a beautiful setting. Thank you so much Alex and your team for our memorable stay.
