We loved the Pimento Lodge! Hosts Lloyd and Kate provide such a warm and gracious welcome to this slice of paradise. Other highlights were the views from our room over the lush vegetation to the ocean, the daybed by the window, the nutritious meals and feeling of being away from it all. There is a great local eatery just down the road and plenty of activity within a short drive to make it just what we needed for a relaxing getaway. We're planning to come back and bring friends!

We are just home from a very special week at Pimento Lodge. Owners Kate and Lloyd are the loveliest people and we will treasure the laughs and conversation we had. This is a truly beautiful spot - peaceful, with birds, butterflies and other wildlife in the lovely, well-kept gardens (take binoculars!). Rooms are spacious and very clean with spectacular sea views. Salt water pool was lovely too. Thank you K&L, our bodies and souls are rested and nourished! X

We really enjoyed this hidden treasure location in the mountains. This beautiful hotel has been build by the owners (Lloyd and Kate). It has 8 rooms and can host around 20 guests. We enjoyed the pool with a stunning ocean view. Over and above the breakfast the owners offered us a self cooked dinner every night. Most is cooked organically straight from the garden. The bar offered a variety of drinks to accommodate dinner. The warm hearted owners provided us a serine ambiance to recharge and relax. This location is great to explore the east part of the island: Range Falls, Boston Beach, Frenchman’s Cove (our favorite beach) Rio Grande rafting and various mountain hikes. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this part of the island.

We stayed for 6 days and enjoyed every minute. Lloyd and Kate are absolutely delightful people and very soon make you feel like you are visiting new friends in their wonderful, great home and not simply staying in a hotel at all. When you learn that Lloyd personally created this beautiful property from the ground up, devoting love and attention to every detail, you understand why this is such a special place. Here you immediately are comfortable, Lloyd and Kate are ready to help you find your way around, and there are fabulously beautiful coves and waterfalls to visit during the day for a swim, for snorkeling, or even to learn to surf. In the evening, you can walk down from the hotel to an excellent seafood restaurant (called Secrets) that is right on the beach and dine to the sound of the waves. I cannot recommend Pimento Lodge highly enough. We went as a family (ages 23 to 70) and every one of us loved it. We all feel incredibly lucky to have discovered it and spent our vacation here!

I've never seen such an array of flowers and fruit trees in one location. Lloyd and his wife have created a heaven inside heaven. Port Antonio Jamaica must be the most forested area in Jamaica, the mountain rises from the ocean like a volcano, but the only thing falling is rain drops. It literally falls everyday. This is a good thing because if you are looking for relaxation and clean air - this is it! The Pimento Lodge Resort is hand crafted and carefully curated as a garden with accommodation and food. Garden first, because healthy green trees are everywhere - the most striking view is from the pool deck built on the side of a cliff overlooking a real life forest and into the yarning ocean below! Let's talk about accommodation, everything was neatly appointed and modern. First of all I felt very secure because of the high walls that surround the building and the way each individual villas was perched to give maximum view out and over the property. The bed was majestic with four huge royal posts. The bathroom was also nice appointed, Lloyd the owner was very proud of his solar water heater, since ecological conservation was always on his mind. Food - that first night we got in late, maybe around 11pm (hey it's Jamaica mon - it could have been 10pm) . The team of Lloyd and his wife stayed up for us and whe nwe told them that we drove 4 hours through the night rain to get there, they welcomed us with a warm meal of steamed fresh fish. Breakfast was included in the price for the room and that was served 5 star style. The people - We meet Lloyd and his wife the first day, that first meeting felt like meeting old friends, but the best part were the team who went above and belong to served us graciously. If you're looking for a true Jamaican experience while visiting the island you could not ask for a better place to stay than Pimento Lodge. Kate and Lloyd are warm and welcoming. They are truly like your best friends that you visit. We spent many mornings and evening chatting like we've known each other for years. They were so helpful as well, from arranging a guide for rafting down the Rio Grande to putting us in touch with a mechanic when we had an issue with our rental car. The lodge sits on a cliff overlooking the ocean with breathtaking views but is just a short walk away from the beach. The room itself was bright, spacious and very clean. The grounds were nicely kept with a garden of fresh vegetables, fruits and herbs. Breakfasts and dinners were wonderful, from the food to the conversations. I feel lucky that we've found this gem of a place and will definitely return!
