Hotel Casa Gitana Corcovado Tour Operador

We spent a most wonderful “family of 6”vacation in the million dollar view family bungalow at Casa Gitana! We are so glad we came in the green season, the low season, as the weather was still very nice (rain only at night during our stay) and it was so much easier to organize last minute tours with the kids and enjoy all the incredible natural wonders almost all alone with our guides. Edith and Jonathan know everything you need to know and help you wherever they can, absolutely marvellous hosts. If you love food, check out their delicious dishes. We spent a dream vacation at Casa Gitana. We would give 10 stars if we could.

I really enjoyed staying at Casa Gitana. The room was comfortable and the air conditioning was great for a very hot February. I'm a vegetarian and those eating possibilities are available at the restaurant, you just have to ask. I had the best veggie burrito I've ever had. The owner is a local, has been in the hotel business for years and knows a lot of people who can assist with tours, can schedule taxi service and other things. The staff is very friendly and helpful, but I find that true of most people I've encountered in Costa Rica.

Great, privately owned and run hotel. Very friendly owner and team who will spoil you with great attention, food and support to organize your stay at Drake Bay. The hotel is located 4 taxi minutes (approx. 10 USD / 5,000 CRC) from the boat landing zone. The owner will help you to arrange the rides you need. After a short walk across the small street and over a board walk, you will reach the beautiful palm beach in ca. 2 min. We are a family of 4, incl. 2 teenagers and booked the cabin on top of the hill. This accomodation proved to be the perfect. It provides 2 separate bedrooms with air con, a shared bathroom and a small outside kitchen with fridge on the porch from where you have a beautiful view on Drake Bay. You will surely observe a lot of parrots, such as the famous Aras and others. The hotel team was so nice to look after our luggage while we were on a 3 days hike in Corcovado nationalpark. It was great to come back from the jungle to the hotel and find some fresh and clean shorts and T-shirts in our suitcase and to enjoy once again the half-board service of Casa Gitana! Thanks to the whole team for making the stay enjoyable, safe and tasty!

Jonathan and Edith were so warm and knowledgeable about the truly spectacular Corcovado area. The tours they offered were really well run and friendly. This place is a haven for wildlife you see something beautiful all day long. - toucans, whales, tapirs, monkeys, coatis the list goes on. It’s mind blowing! There is a deserted beach stretching for miles and it truly feels like paradise! It is simple in its amenities but perfect for our family of four. We felt safe and very well cared for. The food was knock out every meal. We really hope to return again.

Spent 3 days in Casa Gitana in Aug 2022, sole traveller, hence booked a small room (not a suite). The wooden room was very clean and spacious, decorated with taste, had a fan and private toilette with good hot shower. I particularly enjoyed sitting in the front veranda in the evenings. There is room service every day. The restaurant in the front has a pleasant atmosphere, occasionally good lounge music at discrete volume, good to chill out after the day trekks. Breakfast is included (I took continental), good and abundant. The restaurant service is recommended, fish dishes (mahi mahi, tuna) were very well prepared. The hotel is located about 3 km from Agujita center, I personally preferred it over the center as it was quiet and the walk down to Agujita was nice with stunning sea views. Personnel is very friendly and customer oriented, Martin did a good job in the kitchen and Jonathan, the manager, helped with the arrangements of all my tours (Corcovado half day, snorkelling in Canio, and the best one with the tapir trail - a night tour with Gustavo in a private reserva - separate review). All tours were well organized and enjoyable. Jonathan also helped with transport arrangements like boat from and to Sierpe, he is very dedicated to assist his guests. Last, the house pet Linda (aka "tapir") will search for cuddles. Recommended, good value for the price.

Edith the owner is just lovely, as her son. They offer a shuttle service/ taxi driver at any time. The flair is very warm and welcoming. The private room was a little small and had a strange smell. Other than that clean and a private bathroom with a locker. Many home-cooked meals and good wine. The beach is just across the street, the town 5-10 minutes by car. Would come again!!
