Bit late writing this review but I really wanted to get across how beautiful this property is and how attentive the staff were. We actually had the place to ourselves when we were there and the staff could not do enough for us - whether it was offering us teas or food or recommending places to walk. The scenery is indescribable and the house itself is so historic. Bed was super comfy and the bathroom had a lovely bath where you could relax and gaze out the window. My only word of warning is that the journey from Haputale was a bit hair raising and not for the faint hearted - but we just tried to not think about the drops off the road and just look at the scenery!

We stayed for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and simply loved it. The house and grounds are so beautiful and so well kept. The location is amazing and it feels like you have died and gone to heaven. We walked, relaxed, played croquet on the lawn and swam in the pool (which is gorgeous). We drank tea and ate breakfast outside and even watched movies with a log fire blazing away. The staff even prepared us a proper Christmas dinner (which was yummy). We totally recommend it. The staff are very attentive and extremely helpful. There are a couple of things to note though. The drive up to the house from the road is about 45 minutes on an extremely bumpy path and the linens need a little attention. We also thought that the bathrooms could do with a spruce up. BUT because of where you are you understand. BUT any negatives melt away because of where you are and you can let the world melt away in this idyllic setting. Utterly gorgeous.
