The Capoe House is situated well away from any signs of tourism in the hills surrounded by forest and tea plantations. The views are stunning and the locals tend their crops around the property. We ate really well and the service was excellent. There are walks from the property and a swim in a local stream. Our manager was a zoologist and showed us a pit viper found by a local villager. He was knowledgeable about all the local wildlife. The staff were friendly and because there are so few bedrooms the hotel has an intimate feel about it. We really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed at Capoe House for two nights ans had a very good time. The property is very beautiful in the middle of the mountains and nature. After one night in busy Ella this place was perfect for us to find some peace and relax as well as to explore the nature and nerby waterfalls. Lastly, the staff made this experience to a very special one. They took the best care of us and the food was amazing. For sundowner we enjoyed the self-created cocktails from our personal butler Chaminda!

Absolutely bliss! The hotel's location is serene and relaxing. The birding is fantastic as well. We spent two full days without leaving the property. Eranda was extraordinarily helpful, kind, and attentive. The food was very good as well. There are only three rooms so it never felt crowded.

The Capoe House is an oasis of calm, off the beaten track in tea country. Everything about this place is superb. The rooms are very cool, the setting and the excellent naturalist manager provide opportunities for nature walks in lovely country to a waterfall and beyond. The staff are wonderful especially Chaminda. Give them your body and they will give you back your soul.

We spent four nights in this beautiful hotel with one night being the only guests which was very special as the staff are superb and we were treated like royalty. It’s the perfect place for total peace and quiet and Eranda’s knowledge of birds is wonderful. We saw many different species and giant squirrels, monkeys and mongooses. It is a very special place where no request is too much trouble.

What a beautiful place! Capoe House and its setting blew us away as we arrived! All the staff were so incredibly welcoming. This place is very remote and high in the mountains. Peaceful and amazing views. There are excursions if you wish. The staff are so friendly and look after you very well. The food is delicious and very difficult not to eat all of it ☺️ well done chef All of the staff very knowledgeable and take the time to chat. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for a couple of quiet days before moving on. Room so comfortable. Thank you

Smal and intimate place in the hill side (3 rooms that in total sleep 10 people). Off the beaten track in a beautiful surrounding. If you don´t manage to have a good night´s sleep here, you will not have one anywhere:). Excellent service. Since it is “far out” we had half board. Due to the size of the hotel, the menue has to be limited. One slightly negative comment: the local dishes are excellent, the attempts at serving western style dishes were not that successful. My advice would be to drop them and go “full local”. That would be the experience we were looking for.

The Capoe House is an amazing mountain hide-away with just 3 rooms with exceptional service. Kiyu and Buter-Chaminda and their teams took great care of us and the food was delightful! Would recommend 10/10. Thanks for this unforgettable experience!
