Clean, beautiful, well located, and great service! We would recommend this hotel for a great stay in the Loire Valley.

We stayed at this lovely hotel during a cycling holiday through the Loire Valley. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and modern with all the comforts we required. The hotel has been tastefully refurbished over the last 10 years and is a credit to the owners. The perfect location, with easy access to the chateau and village shops and restaurants.

The hotel's walls are made of the beautiful white stone that is used in so many buildings in this area, but especially nice in the hotel compared to nearby chateaux, due to the excellent upkeep. Our room was very spacious and pleasant, with a great shower, but no tub. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Perhaps due to the stone walls, the WiFi was a little slow. The location of the hotel with regard to nearby chateaux, along with the gated inexpensive parking, makes it a great base of operations for exploring the Loire valley. Breakfast was great every morning, and the staff was super friendly and helpful.

We stayed at La Grande Monarque for three nights. Everything was perfect from the first contact with Vincent upon arrival. We enjoyed a very spacious room with comfortable beds and luxurious bedding, a large bath with two sinks, an American style breakfast and assistance with everything we needed during our stay. We would highly recommend this hotel and the village of Azay-le-Rideau. The village is smaller than others in the area making it easier to manage, stroll and explore without fighting crowds and cars. The hotel offers secure parking which we appreciated. Without exception, the staff was friendly and accommodating.

This hotel is amazing quality and value for money. Beautiful reception rooms and bedrooms, breakfast everything you could wish for, and friendly and helpful staff. After one or two indifferent experiences this hotel restored my faith in French hotels.

A superb 4star hotel. Superior to most others. Very welcoming: personal attention give by staff. Excellent rooms - great exceptionally clean. and a lovely garden to have a drink. Tasty breakfast- of 5 hotels in Which we stayed in the Loire Valley this was by far the best. Wished we could have stayed extra nights. We will be back.

Very nice hotel with a lovely courtyard, private parking and excellent rooms. We enjoyed one night here and it was very comfortable. We thought it was well run by the team and service was excellent. Good selection of continental breakfast. Great to have coffee machine in room too.

Beautiful little town with a gorgeous Chateau and this is the perfect place to stay. Very friendly staff, super clean and modern rooms done in a traditional style. Right in the centre of town adjacent to a stunning patisserie, cheese shop and wine cave. Have stayed many times and always perfect.
