Being only vaguely familiar with Austin, I wasn't sure what to expect from the location and the hotel itself. But we LOVED it. The Heywood is practically perfect. From the welcoming phone reservation and in-person greeting by staff, to the layout of the room, the design, the comfort and the setting, everything is extremely well put together. It's casual but sophisticated, comfortable and modern. It's a gratefully quiet haven in the heart of East Austin, close to the 6th St corridor, and an easy walk into downtown. And did I mention the free snacks? PS - I've stayed in some of the crappiest hotels in the world and some of the finest. The Heywood, for me, captures the essence of Austin. And it really is perfectly delivered.

Just returned home from our third stay in three years at the Heywood Hotel in Austin. As always, our experience was exceptional from beginning to end. There is no better location for travelers - wonderful food, drinks, music, shopping all within an easy walk, or a short Uber ride. Ashley, Edgar and Kayla were on hand to take care of us, and each of them truly have the soul of service and the heart of hospitality. Our room was in pristine condition - floors clean, not a speck of dust to be found, and the beds are so comfortable. During our stay, snow blanketed the city for a day, and we were more or less confined to the room as most businesses & restaurants were closed until the evening. But they were kind to check on us and provide coffee and tea until we could venture out later for dinner. We have stayed at some of the best hotels in the country, but have never had the level of service and personal care that we receive from the Heywood. They are a unicorn among their industry peers - rare and splendid!

Excellent overnight stay at this gem of a find in East Austin! The staff Erin & Brian were so gracious. It was quiet location. Very comfy bed, tasty coffee and walking distance to restaurants, bars and Lady Bird Lake. Would definitely stay here again.

Our second stay at the Heywood was even more charming and pleasant than the first. The staff is unfailingly friendly and helpful. Booking and checking in were easy and smooth. Our requests were met perfectly and the hotel even provided some local drinks and snacks above and beyond what we had requested. Our King room was cozy and inviting, private and quiet even though it was right off the lobby and looked out onto the Main Street nearby. Tons of restaurants, shopping and activities only a few minutes away. We love this place and can’t wait to come back!

Wonderful hotel with amazing details, from little chocolate fancy treats to local beer in the fridge. The bed was super comfy with fresh white linens and they even had ice already in the bucket! No worries about the parking, which was a big plus. We enjoyed sitting in the chairs out front as well as the upstairs outdoor area. Beautiful and serene. I felt the value was perfect. Can't wait to return! GPS had us going around the block a few times until we just entered on Ceasar Chavez. That was easy. The service is extremely personable, too.

The Heywood was perfect for our needs. We needed somewhere comfortable to stay for a night to visit friends etc. it was stylish, clean and well located. Would also be great for a longstay without all the intrusion of a full service hotel. Staff were personable and helpful
