Auberge de La Foret

I have just spent a fantastic week stay at Auberge de la Foret. We used Auris as a base to ski in Auris and Alp D'Huez. Auris is very quiet, and perfect as a base to explore the surrounding area. The views of the mountains from our balcony were great. Virginie was a great host and made my son and I feel so welcome. Our plane was delayed so we arrived much later than arranged, but she was really understanding and accommodating. The rooms are cozy and comfortable. We had half board and the breakfast and dinner were excellent, and just what you need before and after a day's skiing. The restaurant in the evening is lovely with the open fire and board games. I would also recommend the beer on tap - it is craft beer and locally brewed in Bourg. Thanks Virginie for a lovely stay!

(Also in english below) C'est une auberge familiale, propice également aux séjours 'amoureux', dans un tout petit village typique, dans une atmosphère calme et reposante et avec une vue époustouflante. Le Canapé au coin du feu de cheminée, les chambres très confortables avec une literie de très bonnes qualité y compris les lits 'enfant', le restaurant en demi-pension ou non, des plats succulents et des vins à des prix très raisonnables bien loin des excès de certains restaurants de station... Les 'gens du coin' et des villages alentours connaissent et reconnaissent la qualité de cet établissement et de son restaurant où ils vont manger et passer des moments chaleureux et festifs. Cette auberge est à l'image de sa patronne Virginie et de son équipe : formidable, rare, chaleureuse, accueillante, attentifs au bien-être de chacun de leurs clients... Virginie : vous êtes une personne exceptionnelle et vous faites (et continuerez à faire) de votre auberge un lieu 'magique' ou l'on se sent très bien, un peu comme si on était de la famille... pour tout ça : merci, merci, merci... --------- It is a family inn, also suitable for 'romantic' stays, in a very small typical village, in a calm and relaxing atmosphere and with a breathtaking view. The sofa by the fireplace, the very comfortable rooms with very good quality bedding including 'child' beds, the restaurant with half board or not, succulent dishes and wines at very reasonable prices far away the excesses of some skying station restaurants... The 'loca' people from the surrounding villages know and recognize the quality of this establishment and its restaurant where they go to eat and spend warm and festive moments. This 'auberge' reflects the image of its owner Virginie and her team: wonderful, rare, warm, welcoming, attentive to the well-being of each of their customers... Virginie: you are an exceptional person and you make (and will continue to make) your hostel a 'magical' place where we feel very good, a bit like we were family members... for all that: thank you , thank you , thank you again..

Pour la deuxième année, je suis venu en séminaire pour le travail dans l'auberge de Virginie. Et bien c'est canon ! Nous sommes reçu comme des princes dans une ambiance chaleureuse et familiale. Tout est propre et les repas sont divins ! Hâte de revenir l'année prochaine. Merci encore :) Kathleen

Hotel très chaleureux, excellente cuisine, accueil très cordial, chambre top. Patronne hyper sympa. Tranquillité absolue. Soirées reposantes auprès du feu. Très bonne bière de la région, confitures maison, miel du coin bon choix de vins au prix abordable.

Excellent accueil, un petit sejour de 3 jours , dans le calme et la convivialité. Patronne très sympa ( avis de motard ), a refaire et à partager. Des chambres très bien avec vue sur les 2 Alpes et une bonne cuisine, simple mais bonne et copieuse. Chris et Caro

Hébergement très agréable, situé au calme dans un petit hameau en contrebas d'Auris. Auberge et chambres propres et lumineuses. Personnel très chaleureux. Emplacement avec terrasse avec vue sur montagne. Demi pension de qualité. Espaces communs auprès du feu avec jeux et canapé favorisant les échanges entre les clients. Très bon séjour.
