Awesome hotel with very high standards

This was one of the best stays I’ve ever experienced. The personnel were very attentive to my needs and consistently went beyond my expectations. Daniel and Melissa were especially professional and personable and Gran Melia is very fortunate to have them as members of their executive team. The various dining options were great and the facility and grounds spectacular! I highly recommend the Gran Melia.

I truly appreciate the exceptional management at Melia Arusha, which contributed to making my stay truly delightful. The team at Melia Arusha, particularly Daniel and Prisila, went above and beyond to ensure that my two-night stay was not only enjoyable but also memorable with their warm and welcoming demeanor. The rooftop dinner was simply amazing, offering us a delightful and unforgettable dining experience. Additionally, the moments of tranquility and relaxation spent at the Red Level Lounge were made even more special by Maggie's attentive service. It was a truly remarkable and enjoyable stay that we will always cherish.

The view from the hotel is giving...it scream nature and luxurious. Its perfect for lunch and dinner. It have a wide place to roam around and get different views from each angle

Although the gardens look nice, the lobby and rooms are nice, that is about where it ends. The housekeeping standards and service quality issues leave a lot to be desired. I travel enough that I know what a reliable standard is - and this hotel isn’t it. A laundry list of problems shows that the staff is not properly trained and the management over housekeeping and rooms is not training their staff properly or not. Checking their work in the rooms, or both. A sample of the issues: - room not cleaned or serviced all day. - towels not replaced and left with none - carelessly letting window curtains get caught in sliding door so that air conditioning won’t go on - No potable water left in the room At all - Broken air conditioning - doorknobs missing on the drawers - not answering the phone at guest services after multiple tries - stains on upholstered furniture - Stains on “clean” towels - dry rough and worn towels worthy of a 2 * hotel - lack of hot water in the shower And the list goes on… How can a hotel that holds itself out at this level have such bad service quality details? Doubt I will be back here for a visit, but I have had similar bad experiences at other gran Meliá properties, so is there a pattern here on lower housekeeping and room standards? Wifi was good. Bed was a bit too firm. Had a work desk and large panel TV. Small safe available in room as well.

The Gran Meliá in Arusha is a must visit for any taveler. The whole experience is simply top notch. Spacious, well appointed rooms, friendly and efficient staff as well as easy checkin / checkout services. The attention to detail is excellent, from the rooftop gardens, to the huge pool, own coffee plantation and excellent variety of restaurants and bars. The food and service experienced was top class! Make this a bucketlist stay if you are in the area!

- Everything was on the top level! True 5 stars hotel. - Hotel area is beautiful. Exterior and Interior is great. - Staff is very professional, however not all of them are attentive enough. - Room was new and clean with amazing view (however bathroom was a bit tired). - Food was not superb, but quite good. - Nice restaurants at the hotel. - Pool closes quite early, so we couldn't swim after dinner(( - Prosecco should be for free for such level of hotel during the breakfast.

The food (on the rooftop restaurant), the vibe, the decoration, and the view: 6 out of 5 stars. Good service, great ingredients (which is not always the case here in Arusha), and a stunning view on Mt Meru. My wife and me had a lovely dinner for two, there is enough space between the tables, just lovely.

The hotel sits in beautiful landscaped grounds with a wonderful swimming pool and views. The room was comfortable though the mattress and pillows didn’t seem luxurious to me. Dinner in the rooftop grill was great but breakfast poor. The fruit juice seemed watered down and tasteless. Overall great hotel but with a few minor things letting it down.
