Rivertrees is beautiful, peaceful, and a wonderful place to visit in Tanzania. The sound of the Usa river is calming. Room are spacious, well decorated, and beds are comfortable. Food is delicious and plentiful, our waiter, Emmanuel was most excellent.

We started our Tanzanian visit at Rivertrees, Arusha. We were greeted by professional staff, stayed in beautiful accommodations, that were clean and safe and included little monkeys running around all over the place. It was a gorgeous setting. The food was delicious, fresh, with an interesting menu. The serving staff was phenomenal. Emmanuel, Isaac, and Azira, were fun, friendly, and professional. They all went over and above to make sure that we enjoyed our stay. I cannot say enough about our experience at Rivertrees. I highly recommend this property.

Such a beautiful place to start my Tanzanian adventure. The staff were so accommodating and even stayed up late upon our group arrival to make us a late dinner. The grounds are kept up perfectly and they have signs and QR codes so you know what you are seeing. There is a lovely overlook by the river to enjoy. The rooms are spacious and have the beds and pillows were so comfy. Simply perfect!

Like many we ended up at this hotel as part of a larger trip as our stay prior to departing Arusha. The property itself is decent given its location but we would not recommend staying here. The service both at lunch and at dinner was challenging, with not only slow service but the food quality was not lacking. It took us asking four times and 2 different people for us to get water at our table. If we hadn't been increasingly assertive I am not sure we ever would received water. Other areas you should be aware of; staff rolling their eyes when I asked about getting boxed breakfasts the next morning, they agreed but unsurprisingly there were no boxes ready when we checked out. Upon. check-out they repeatedly tried to charge us for items we didn't purchase and even after we got that settled, they punched in a higher amount into their credit card terminal. The property lost power multiple times which included no running water since the pumps shut off. I fully understand this can happen, but a heads-up from them would have been nice so we were prepared, if/when the power shut off. While it is a transient hotel for most that are coming for safaris, the basics just weren’t up to par with other popular options in the area.

My husband and I spent 3 nights at Rivertrees outside Arusha, Tanzania before embarking on our safari with Thomson Safari Company. What a great introduction to Tanzania. We would like to commend the wait staff in the restaurant where we had three meals a day. The food and service were very good. Nelson, Deborah, and Emanuel, among others, were so attentive. We knew we would be traveling for over a week in Land Rovers and decided to imbibe the peacefulness and beauty of this large, lovely property before setting out for Tanzania's awesome national parks. Our large cottage on the River meant that we went to sleep and woke up to the sounds of rushing water. We looked for birds and monkeys on our walks along the river each day, enjoyed massages, and sat around the fire in the late afternoons to chat with other guests. As for the food, we especially liked the large and varied breakfast buffet and the ability to order from the menu at the same time with no limitations. We are not exactly "foodies" but you won't ever go hungry at Rivertrees.

We arrived late (1am) from the US and stayed through the next day and the following night, which worked out great. It allowed us to get acclimated before heading out on our safari. The grounds were lovely, especially enjoyed the blue monkeys and the river. The accommodations were wonderful - plenty of room and all of the amenities. Great hospitality and very good food. We also stayed just for the day on our return, which again worked out really well and was very reasonably priced. So glad our travel agent recommended starting and ending our trip this way.
