Papua Paradise Ecoresort

First the pros- that staff here is very friendly and helpful, and the activities crew do a nice job. The cons- this is a bit rustic. There is no air conditioning and WiFi only works in the small lobby area. There are not enough fans for all of the villas. All of the meals are served buffet style- the food is fine, but it feels pretty repetitive even during a short stay. I think one of the most disappointing things was the amount of garbage floating in the water at the resort and at some of the snorkeling sites. The resort is doing their best to correct it, but it certainly negatively impacts the vibe of the resort and the area

This place is incredible! Such a beautiful area! Private huts over the water with rays, juvenile black tip sharks, and reef fish all around! The food is so fresh and wonderfully prepared. The SCUBA diving is some of the best in the world and their dive service is first rate with small boats and best guides and crew. From the resort management to each staff member, the people were so kind and cared so much to make our experience the very best possible. It felt like we were leaving very special friends and family when it was time to come home!

This is a lovely place with well trained professional and friendly staff and excellent food. There were storms while I was there so the visibility wasn’t great but the coral is amazing. The resort does need updating, the storms kept the temperature bearable but no aircon when it was sunny would be pretty difficult, similarly no Wi-Fi in the bedrooms in 2024 ? Also despite being an “ecolodge “, diesel generators instead of solar power? Despite these caveats however it’s a lovely place and well worth a visit

My son and I spent 7 days at this beautiful dive resort. Communication in the planning stage was always quick and excellent. We were met at the airport and taken to a hotel for a lie down before the 2 pm boat ride to the island - much appreciated after an overnight flight. The resort looks basic from the outside but our room was very well appointed, immaculately clean and surprisingly cool. The fans were more than enough to make the room comfortable. There was always a light breeze that helped. There is internet in the lobby area only which really helps you to block out work and relax. We loved the food - given how limited the food is in Sorong ( and other parts of Raja Ampat we have visited) I think the chefs do an incredible job. And great to get a relatively affordable glass of wine in Indonesia. We went to the spa three times - Nova was awesome - the spa is so beautiful- definitely worth it. The diving was our main reason for going - we had some issues with visibility and I’m not sure if we were just unlucky or that is normal and why there is so much life. But the days when we had decent visibility were awesome - sometimes I felt like I was in an aquarium! Loved Cape Kri especially- such a fun current dive. So great to see live, healthy coral. We even saw a couple of Mantas which was incredible. Robbie our guide was excellent and has the sharpest eyes for tiny critters! The house reef 2 is a gorgeous snorkel spot. Overall this was such a relaxing week, I felt everything was so well organised and I know that is no simple feat in this remote location . It truly was a privilege to spend time in this little patch of paradise - thankyou to all of the wonderful staff.

Papua Paradise Resort is a well-managed and very well-maintained resort. The person responsible for all this is Peter, the resort manager. He is very professional, polite, attentive, kind, takes care of the smallest details, cares a lot about fulfilling your wishes and is a very hard-working person. A basic characteristic of the Resort that I loved was that I had my feet on the ground the whole time we were there. With your feet on the ground, and with nature all around you (be it the birds and their various songs, the unforgettable sunsets, the trees, the view of the open sea and the fish with their endless dives during the day and night), you can't help but forget all your problems and simply relax and focus on everything that is around you. It is a resort focused on diving and snorkeling. It has an excellent infrastructure for this activity, as well as an amazing team dedicated to it. This certainly made our vacation enjoyable, memorable and relaxing. There are day trips leaving from the resort every day that you can do as a group or choose your own day trip. They are very well organized in preparing each day trip (equipment, water and food). Divers are assigned to stay with you the entire time you are at the resort. In our case, Hermanos accompanied my husband on all the dives he did during the 6 days we were there, and Romel stayed with me for snorkeling. Both Hermanos and Romel were very kind, attentive, polite and professional people. The trips for the next day were always discussed and planned the night before with Nishay. He always had good options that are hard to choose. This is a team of people who make your day trip very easy, well organized and very enjoyable. They think of every detail of everything. At the resort, all of the cabins are overwater and have incredible sunset views. The rooms are a good size, extremely clean, and simply but well designed and decorated. There is no air conditioning, however, with the two fans in the room (ceiling and standing), this is more than enough to make the room pleasant to sleep in. In the room, there was also a mosquito net around the bed, where there is plenty of space between the bed and the mosquito net, which gives a nice feeling when you go to bed. In addition, every night there is a staff that comes to the room, turns on the insect repellent and prepares the room for the night. Despite all of this preparation/concern, we had no problems with mosquitoes at night the entire time we were there. Reception: There is a comfortable and cozy place with sofas and a bar where you can sit, enjoy the view, the sunset, have a drink or just relax in the area. It is well decorated and the atmosphere is very pleasant. Resort: There is no air conditioning in the resort, 24-hour power, 24-hour WiFi only in the reception/bar area (no WiFi in the cabins). This was the first week of our honeymoon and what a great way to start it here! Amazing how they got luxury and nature combined! The food is so good! It reminded me how my grandmother and mother used to Cook! The staff are so kind and helpfull! They made our honeymoon even more special with all that they did for us! Even a cake on our last night! It truely is the last Paradise on earth!
