An amazing experience from start to finish, each and every employee was exemplary! Room was absolutely beautiful with the most amazing views of the sea! Food in both the bar and the house restaurant were exceptional! Breakfast was also excellent! An incredible way to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary! Thanks so much to everyone at cliff house for a truly fabulous weekend!

My wife and I had a short break at the Cliff House Hotel. I had often heard about it but had never been. Right from the very start this was a celebration of old world elegance. I don't mean that the hotel is tired. Far from it. Everything is modern and very well maintained. The rooms are beautifully appointed and by fiendish contrivance all have sea views. The rooms run down the face of the Cliff. Our room had a balcony. There is a cliff garden which runs between the balconies. We ate dinner at the bar which was very pleasant. Our breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever enjoyed. With valet parking and your bags transferred as if by magic to your room there is a strong sense of being minded right from the start. Which of us doesn't need a little minding? The staff are wonderful. All pleasant and smiling. A particular mention for Patrick who met us on arrival and was such a gentleman making us feel instantly at home. He also rescued us when he found us wandering lost around the hotel for which I am grateful! In short this is a wonderful hotel and a lovely experience. I can't wait to come back.

Time goes too fast when you are here, it's a fabulous hotel, with truly fabulous views over the water from all the rooms, such a relaxing place, we absolutely love it here. Out of 10, would give it 11. And we will certainly be back. Dip in the sea recommended too.

The aspect is stunning and the building a mixture of good quality modern and well refurbished old. Reception & Concierge staff are excellent and our suite was comfortable, but the two balconies could have been better equipped. The bar was below par and the House restaurant served only a tasting menu during our stay so food choice was limited

We stayed for 3 nights , the toilet did not flush, the shower was too hot , the temperature could not be reduced down, and the room which is very small for a 5 star hotel was extremely muggy at night , the air con could not be reduced below 19 degrees, it was a sweat bath each night, I advised reception of these issues ,however they were not fixed , the toilet still did not flush . This hotel was possibly a 5 star years ago , however poor value at 440 per night, Basic issues as outlined not working adequately. The food and location are good however .
