The hospitality and welcoming at this hotel was outstanding. I was traveling on my own and felt safe and taken care of especially by Sherrie, the owner of the establishment. The room was comfortable and quaint with its historical charm. The included breakfast was more than sufficient and the restaurant located within the hotel was excellent. I was pleasantly surprised by my extreme positive experience in this hotel and highly recommend it to anyone planning a visit to the beautiful and welcoming town of Arcata. I will definitely return. Classic, historic hotel right in the Arcata town square. Good condition for the age and history of the hotel. close to bars, restaurants, shops, etc.

It’s an old building, which I like, but old building doesn’t excuse mildew/mold on the window curtains and overall cleanliness (or lack of). The location is great although the outside people like to gather in front of the liquor store and the closed businesses adjacent to the property. Overall I would stay there again because I love the location and I love the price.

Gorgeous old well maintained hotel in walking distance to everything. Friendly staff , clean, comfy beds. Would stay again and would recommend.

Amazing stay in a historic hotel. Walking around the plaza was a highlight. So many eateries, shops and pubs. Perfect vibe.

Did not like at all. No heat! No hair dryer. Poorly furnished! Took forever to get hot water.

This is a charming and historic spot along the 101. Rather than stop at some big chain hotel / motel, we opted for a little bit of history. The place is perfectly located off the Arcata town square and was perfectly suited for our stay. Conveniently located near restaurants and shopping. Close to outdoor activities and good hikes. I would caution if you need the most fancy and updated space this might not be for you, but then those people aren't considering this old hotel to begin with.

The property is is nice, like a historical building, I didn’t like the shower curtains they look pink (moldy) on the bottom, the blanket is a little too thin for the area, everything else it was nice.

The Hotel is old and thus the rooms are small with decent bathrooms. Shower was over a claw-foot tub that required ability to climb into the tub. Otherwise it was just as expected. A little funky but not in a bad way.
