This is a very interesting hotel. It appears to be a converted office building. The lobby is crowded but adequate. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The 2nd floor hallway was very dark and had interesting door numbers. Our room overlooked the street, was spacious with a shower in one corner and the toilet near the entry door. The shape of the room was unusual. The fixtures ”bathroom” sink served as a headboard for the bed. The television had multiple international channels. The hotel was very convenient for walking in the central area. Lots of restaurants, bakeries and shops were nearby.

지하철역 바로 옆에 트램 4번, 14번이 있습니다. 우리는 공항에서 나와 중앙역으로 가는 기차를 타고 호텔까지 4번으로 갈아탔습니다. 암스테르담의 거리와 도로는 모두 아스팔트 도로가 아니며, 그 중 많은 부분이 작은 벽돌이고 많은 짐이 있습니다. 지하철역 쪽을 선택해야 합니다. 그렇지 않으면 너무 힘들게 걷게 됩니다. 오래된 호텔, 매우 깨끗하고 매우 따뜻한 리셉션. 아침 식사 선택이 없습니다. 차량을 예약하실 경우 택시 등이 호텔 입구에 도달할 수 없으며, 반드시 광장을 건너야 하거나, 뒤편 도로변에 있어야 한다는 점에 유의하시기 바랍니다.

I am so glad that I spent a few more dollars to stay at this truly wonderful hotel. I was travelling solo for the first time in Amsterdam and lucked into a great price for one of their smaller rooms (which was still luxurious). The area is perfect for getting around the entire city (with a nearby tram stop if your feet give out). And the hotel itself feels warm despite its grandeur -- definitely because the entire staff are amazingly kind and helpful -- including the wonderful people bringing your delicious breakfast or pouring the perfect drink after a day of museums! If your budget can stretch to afford this glorious place, it is truly top-notch and will make your stay in Amsterdam extremely comfortable. I honestly cannot recommend it enough! If you are looking for a luxury hotel with all the bells and whistles of 5 star service perhaps Canal House is not your kind of place. It's not cheap, but neither are any of the hotels in Amsterdam along the canals, with canal views. The hotel is located on the Keizergracht Canal, which is the second of three of the main canals of Amsterdam. It is widely considered one of the most beautiful canals. The location does not come cheap. We had a room called the ”Outstanding Room”. I chose this one because it definitely had a canal side view. It was very roomy (36 sq metres) and beautifully furnished in an open plan style. Those of you who want a closed off door to the bathroom might not go for the open plan design. The staff were fantastic on our visit in early September 2023. They carried our (very heavy) bags up the 3 narrow flights of stairs for us and brought them down for us when we checked out. The beautiful garden out the back is perfect for an afternoon drink. There is a small bar at the hotel which is great for a relaxed atmosphere. The breakfast is served in a buffet style. It is small in selection of items but everything on it is high quality (small producer yoghurt, fresh fruit, freshly squeezed juice, freshly baked quiche and the pastries, coffee as you like it on demand, or tea if you prefer). The hotel is located very close to the Jordaan area, which is our favourite part of the city. It's full of excellent cafes and boutiques and has a far more local vibe to it than anything up around the touristy Dam Square area. The only negative that stops me giving a 5 star review is that the air conditioning struggles in Summer. I get it, the hotel is a very old traditional canal house that was not built for air conditioning. It is installed but really struggled to cool our room, especially with the beautiful big windows facing the morning sun. It's not going to stop us returning here as our favourite Amsterdam hotel though (just not from June - August). Other notable things to consider: The hotel is a five minute walk to Ann Frank's House. Yes, it's a 30 minute walk to the Rikjs Museum and Van Gogh Museum. We Ubered there very easily instead of walking. Dam Square is Tourist Central and a bit tacky. It's a 15 min walk away if you want to get there. I generally avoid that area. I prefer the genuine local character around Jordaan. Try Kessens for lunch/brunch. It's an excellent cafe 10 minutes walk away. Pesca is also excellent if you like a fish restaurant with a fun vibe (it's a 15 minute walk).

They really thought of lots of lovely little things that make your stay fantastic... you walk in and there's wine gums on reception to feast on, you can take a Polaroid and clip it to the wall, postcards to send home, more wine gums on your bed & water bottles to refill with lovely flavoured water downstairs... so many lovely things. Quiet location, but still on a pretty canal. Close to all the must see places, great boutique type shops all around.

The hotel staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. They took our bags to the room, greeted us with a complimentary beverage on arrival, lent us an adaptor for our phone charger and stored our bags on departure day with no fuss at all. We didn’t feel rushed and immediately felt at ease on arrival. The complimentary breakfast was lovely with scrambled eggs, meats, cheeses, pastries, fruit, yoghurt and cereals on offer. We stayed in a room on the third floor which was a little small but very comfortable and clean with a lovely hot shower perfect after a day of exploring. The only negative I can see to this hotel is the very steep stairs, which we managed with but they would be a challenge for some. Overall a lovely stay and great hospitality. Thank you

They really thought of lots of lovely little things that make your stay fantastic... you walk in and there's wine gums on reception to feast on, you can take a Polaroid and clip it to the wall, postcards to send home, more wine gums on your bed & water bottles to refill with lovely flavoured water downstairs... so many lovely things. Quiet location, but still on a pretty canal. Close to all the must see places, great boutique type shops all around.
