We had a fantastic stay at the Gal Oya Lake Club. All the staff were extremely professional and welcoming. The owner invited us to his son’s birthday and treated us like family. The location is beautiful just by the lake. There is an incredible infinity pool (actually two pools) in the middle of a beautiful garden and even an open air but covered gym facility. The bungalows and the deluxe tents are superbly furnished and equipped and they have a very professional masseur on site. I can only recommend this unique place.

Spacious, comfortable room with large bathroom and lovely terrace. There are two pools for about 14 to 16 guests and the one near our room was large and overlooked the lake. The lake is lovely. You can watch the birds from platforms they have built. The one criticism is the food. The hotel is not near any good restaurants so we needed to eat there in the evening. The food could be much improved. The prawns were tasteless and the dosa was a thick pancake. Breakfast was fine but not as good as at other hotels, where a buffet was offered. The coffee needs improving. The hotel is ideally located for the boat safari in the national park. We did this at 6.30am and it was superb. Elephants, crocodiles, a huge snake...as well as beautiful birds.

Fabulous place. This is a tranquil, beautiful place to unwind. Off the beaten track but a gem of a find. We couldn’t fault the complex. Small amount of accommodation in various forms. We stayed in a safari tent over looking a large lake full of wildlife. Lovely pool. Kayaking on the lake if you like. Food excellent and service outstanding. Staff went out of their way to help us when we had a small problem. Happily recommend without any hesitation.

What a fabulous place to stay. We were in a Glamping tent but what luxury. It was great. The restaurant was good and food excellent. The staff were soo friendly and helpful. We met the boss (Thomas) and were made so welcome. There are two outstanding swimming pools and def everything had a view of the lake. We loved it. The area was great for walking with lanes surrounding the property. We did think though that they should put an English choice on the menu for breakfast and also prices for the beer as no where to be seen. These are really small points as the stay was outstanding .

We stayed in one of the tents which had a full bathroom and air conditioning. The views over the lake from the covered terrace at the front of the tent were stunning. The staff went out of their way to ensure you had everything you needed from refreshing cold towels and juice on arrival to explaining local dishes at dinner. The best thing about this place is that you can use the pool at anytime, a particularly nice way to see the sunrise over the lake with an early morning dip.

We visited Gal Oya Lake Club with 8 People. We had a wonderful time during our 3 day stay. The location, surrounding and wildlife is gorgeous. The hospitality and the staff are outstanding. Even the tents have a brandnew AC. The food was perfect. The next trip to Gal Oya is booked. I can highly recommend the place. Christine from Germany
