My wife and I picked this place mainly to do the activities around the area (Nilgala Jungle Safari and Inginiyagala Boat Safari). Until we arrived at the hotel, we had no idea how beautiful and peaceful the place is. Initially, we had booked only for 2 nights. We decided to extend the stay and spend the anniversary day at this place. The bunglow (Lotus) we stayed is right in front of the lake "Ali Oluwa". You could spend hours looking at the lake, not just from the porch, they have arranged a few places in the premises facing the lake. The room was very spacious and clean. Had all the amenities needed. The food was very delicious and had many varieties to choose from. The staff were exceptional, attentive, friendly, and genuinely committed to making our stay memorable. Special thanks to Shan and Chamara for going above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful experience. We really would recommend this place to anyone who loves nature and tranquility.

We had a fantastic stay at the Gal Oya Lake Club. All the staff were extremely professional and welcoming. The owner invited us to his son’s birthday and treated us like family. The location is beautiful just by the lake. There is an incredible infinity pool (actually two pools) in the middle of a beautiful garden and even an open air but covered gym facility. The bungalows and the deluxe tents are superbly furnished and equipped and they have a very professional masseur on site. I can only recommend this unique place.

I stayed here in one of the bungalows, which was spacious , elegantly furnished and decorated. All three bungalows face the lake and are right next to one of the two pools. The whole site is amazingly beautiful and well taken care of. The owners, Thomas and Dinesh, made me feel heartily welcome and the staff was very attentive, polite and friendly. The place offers yoga mats and a newly opened outdoor gym to the guests. From there I watched a white pelican swimming across the lake during my workout. This remote spot is the perfect place to enjoy untouched nature and nourish your soul, absolutely recommendable. I will definitely come back on my next journey.

Fabulous place. This is a tranquil, beautiful place to unwind. Off the beaten track but a gem of a find. We couldn’t fault the complex. Small amount of accommodation in various forms. We stayed in a safari tent over looking a large lake full of wildlife. Lovely pool. Kayaking on the lake if you like. Food excellent and service outstanding. Staff went out of their way to help us when we had a small problem. Happily recommend without any hesitation.

The room was brand new, with a very spatious bathroom. Especially the scenery was great, with a lovely pool and view on the lake. We were served a nice dinner (large prawns) and chose for a Sri Lankan breakfast, which really surprised as! We also chose for a head and shoulders massage of 30 minutes. This was a fantastic experience. The guy doing this was very professional and did a great job. Above all, this was not expensive (10 dollars). We recommend.

We stayed in one of the tents which had a full bathroom and air conditioning. The views over the lake from the covered terrace at the front of the tent were stunning. The staff went out of their way to ensure you had everything you needed from refreshing cold towels and juice on arrival to explaining local dishes at dinner. The best thing about this place is that you can use the pool at anytime, a particularly nice way to see the sunrise over the lake with an early morning dip.
