It is a good hotel but, with all due respect, I cannot see the 5 stars ! Rooms are good and have nice over the bay, unfortunately several problems reg. hot water and air conditioning (heating part) occurred. Food in restaurant is fair but has little Greek touch. On the positive side, I would stress the courtesy and friendliness of the staff, be it at the reception, the restaurant, or house keepers.

Breathtaking location! Stunning views of the bay and Aegean Sea from every corner of the property. I had enrolled for a 7nights yoga retreat and continued to stay on for 3 extra nights thereafter. I preferred staying at the Amorgian styled rooms over to the Cycladic ones as I felt the interior overall was more spacious and the view from the balcony was much more pronounced of the Aegean Sea. The staff right down from the Reception, concierge, kitchen, spa, bar, restaurants were of top quality in terms of service and hospitality. It was a home away from home experience. Delicious Greek Food was In abundance during breakfast and dinner! Lastly the owners of the hotel mingle with the guest like friends! A dream team overall . Highly recommended for retreats or stays in Amorgos

This was my 2nd time staying at Aegialis Hotel & Spa. My first trip was in May for a yoga retreat, which exceeded my expectations. This time it was a solo trip to just relax. The staff always surprises me at how friendly and hospitable they are. And it is in every single depar**ent...from reception, concierge, restaurant, spa, house keeping...each person wants to make you feel right at home. And that is what they all did. Anything I needed and asked for was taken care of. My room was amazing - the best balcony I could ever want (big enough for me to practice yoga on or just bathe in the sun), comfy bed, a place for me to work remotely (which I had to do for a couple of hours at the end of my trip), and great bathroom with spa-like shower. The best part was that even though I was not there for a yoga retreat, the staff made sure to find me a yoga shala for me to practice my yoga in whenever I wanted. I also want to point out that this hotel & spa is a great destination for anyone. Yes, they do host a number of yoga retreats, but there is plenty to do on Amorgos if you are not there for yoga. The hotel has a number of different excursions for anyone to partake in, and they will take care of all of the details for you. This place has become my second home and the staff is my chosen family. I will continue to return to this specific hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

IF you don’t end up in the one unpleasant yoga shala, this is a stunning place to do yoga. All the Yoga shalas, except one, have beautiful views and big open floor to ceiling windows for fresh air and sea breezes and the sounds of nature. If this is important to you, do not book a yoga retreat here unless you can be assured you group will not be assigned to the Elyssia shala. All the groups get to rotate through the rooftop yoga location. The spot is really fun, unique, and quite a special experience. Chances are your group will only be assigned to the rooftop a couple of times, and that is OK because it can get to be too much sun exposure. Overall, the food is really good, (and I have quite high standards). They say that some of the produce is sourced from their garden, but from what I saw, I am doubtful very much of it actually is. It would be nice if it was labeled. They offer some excursions. The Amrgan experience sounded pretty awesome, but a bit expensive for what you get. The yacht experience was really fun, but definitely very overpriced for what you get. The monastery and beach swimming excursion was free for our group, and was well worth the time. Tholaria and Lagada are adorable little authentic villages just a few kilometers away. Be sure to visit them. You can rent a scooter down near the pier - about a 15 minute walk. We upgraded to the deluxe room and it was very nice to have a big shaded patio. The staff is incredibly wonderful and quick to meet your every need. After dinner, one evening, they did traditional Greek music and dancing and that was a total blast. I hear great things about the spa, but my massage was just average. They put you in some sort of machine for the detox massage, which was cold and hard, and Certainly not relaxing or enjoyable. In the massage part of it was pretty average technique. Overall, this is an incredibly special place with special people. Just beware of the Yoga shala situation. If you are an experienced hiker, there is a good trail from Tholaria down to a beach. Look on AllTrails.

It's a lovely resort with delicious food, wonderful massage and spa trea**ents and incredibly responsive and kind staff. There are incredible views of the sea everywhere you turn. The yoga rooms are very well-equipped. Perfect place for a yoga or wellness retreat.

I do not know how this hotel is considered five star. They do have a beautiful location, a spa and fine dining (which was very good.) However, the rooms lack five star quality. When we arrived, our room was extremely warm, lacked a full length mirror, a makeup mirror, a luggage rack and a mini bar/refrigerator. The room was pretty dark and our deluxe room looked out onto a service road. There was no turn down service. The shower although very beautiful, fluctuated between freezing and scalding every fifteen seconds. The hotel boasts environmental friendly but has no bins for recycling. The buffet breakfast had many options, but food was very mediocre. Being a yoga retreat, I was surprised at the lack of healthy options such as granola and smoothies. Our room and the hall outside our room had neon- like gaudy lighting which just served to attract bugs from outside. The staff do not go above and beyond as you would expect in a five star hotel.

I went as part of a yoga retreat. I think the hotel is more of a 4 star hotel what people may expect, as it was missing a night time vibe. Overall, I had the BEST time during my stay. Our rooms were clean but basic. Maintenance was quick. Water is nice and hot. Beds were comfy. The food was alright. I suspect due to the high number of vegan and gluten free people in our group, we had limited options for our breakfasts and dinners. It did become monotonous. The staff was very friendly especially Navaiz our waiter! Very attentive hard worker, he will take great care of you. The owners son who is also the manager, Stomates, was an absolute joy!! Such talent and great person to be around. He plays violin beautifully and made sure everyone was having a great time. The excursions were great and the spa was WONDERFUL! I really really enjoyed it, thank you.

This was a beautiful hotel with excellent service. It seems to cater to large American groups that are there either for weddings or especially for yoga. This means that it is much louder in the dining areas than normal because of large group tables. It also feels overwhelming to be with groups if you are just a couple.

Congratulations for your property which is amazing, and for the quality of the service and the staff. I am a yoga lover and was impressed by the many facilities (yoga shalas) and equipment that guests have at their disposal. The spa is also very good. I will come back soon
