This has the best view of any hotel room I've ever been in. It's like sleeping and waking up in a painting. It's rather large for most Japanese hotel rooms. The only demerit is the size of the bathroom, which will annoy us westerners who are used to larger facilities. However, again, the bathroom is in keeping with the Japanese norm. There is an Onsen as backup. The whole island is tranquil and relaxing. The food was fresh and exciting. This is a nature lovers paradise, with a very eco-tourist vibe. Ento is out of the way, and that's its charm.

This modern hotel offered everything a guest would want: friendly English speaking staff, ocean front views, steps from the Ama ferry terminal and a guided walking tour around the property. Although we did not understand Japanese, it gave us an opportunity to appreciate the geography of this area. The highlight of our stay was the omakase dinner for 110,000. Yen. The chef kindly explained every dish. Be sure to reserve ahead for this delicious experience. The hotel even offers a night boat excursion to see glowing sea creatures. However, it was canceled due to high winds.
