Seriously impressed with the quality and attention to detail at this great hotel. Could find nothing to fault at all. All of the staff were highly trained and delivered absolute customer service excellence on a par with the best to be found anywhere. None of this comes cheaply but then you get what you pay for. We had a lovely room overlooking the lagoon with distant sea views and half board. There are beautiful board walks along the lagoon and to and from the fabulous golden sand beach. We were pleasantly surprised by how extensive half board menu choices were (you could have anything on the a la carte menu essentially) and this is worth doing as there isn't a great deal else in walking distance. We enjoyed the excellent gym and spa facilities. I would highly recommend.

Rooms out of date, disorganised check-in, amenities bad - not at all consistent with a 5 star hotel. Disappointing given the reputation of the hotel.

The hotel lives up to its reputation, and more. The views are quite stunning, the hotel facilities outstanding, the food very good. It does disconcert at first to be in a kind of unreal environment: no village nearby, no schools, no churches, just golf courses and golf hotels, and the occasional café and restaurant.

Hotel Quinta do Lago is and remains one of my favourite hotels in the world and is top of my list for the friendliness and care of the staff and the overall experience which encourages guests such as myself to return again and again. Facilities and amenities are excellent as is the standard of food and beverage. Service is genuine and with a smile from all who are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble.

The hotel opened in 1988 and we first visited in the early 90’s. Probably about our 25th visit last week with two friends. Everything continues to be well maintained, refurbished excellently, spotlessly clean and of a standard rarely found. Rooms are spacious and we have one overlooking the Ria Formosa estuary (a wildlife sanctuary) and the sea. A terrace gets sun most of the day. Breakfast buffet has ever and can be taken inside or out. The pools are immaculate with an all day attendant. Dinner has a full menu with flexibility to our age related requests! The bar is pleasant and very well run. A big wine list with some lovely offerings. Staff in all areas are friendly efficient and attentive as well as many knowing us over many years. Transfers are efficient and a car can be delivered to avoid airport hassle. So, overall, where else could we go? Just a pity Faro airport taking so long to be efficient and bring in electronic passport stations! Waiting in long queues in your 80’s is tedious!!

Enjoyed yet another stay at Hotel Quinta do Lago and it continues to be as excellent as ever in all respects. Staff our outstanding in terms of helpfulness, level of service and professionalism. Very relaxing ambiance, quiet location. Quite traditional, in a nice way. Not too big. Amazing outdoor breakfast balcony with a view. Walking distance to beach and a few restaurants. Best with hired car or use taxi's. Definitely be returning. They have 50% plus return guests which says it all really.
