Hotel Aurora

Excellent conditions for winter and summer holidays: staff, accommodation, abundant and very tasty food, cleanliness, location, in front of the hotel ski bus station! Thank you very much Teresa & Ugo & Team for your kindness and hospitality!

Lovely hotel and staff, the owners were very helpful and also very keen on providing information about skiing and other entertainment in the area. Room was spacious and clean with lovely views. Spa facility was perfect, especially after a long day of skiing, the bar area was opened till late and was perfect for having a few drinks while playing board games! Location of the hotel was also bonus, the ski bus was just outside the door and even so the ski lifts were not too far off, lovely area for evening walks too. Overall atmosphere felt very pleasant and comfortable.

I was exposed to the Aurora Hotel from an internet search.  For a 2 star hotel its rating was high and it surprised me.  From the reviews, I read that the food is very tasty and also the owners Hugo and Terry Rosa provide an amazing service.  Also, its location in Alba (near Canazei) right next to the cable cars that go up to the Salheronda route, was extremely important to me. Already in the mail communication before arriving at the Hotel, Terry was very nice and helpful.  Because of our late arrival time on the day after the flight, I asked her if we would stop to eat on the way or if they would be waiting for us.  Her answer was that even though it's later for dinner time, they'll be waiting for us.  After a long day of travel and flights, they greeted us with a smile and a delicious dinner. So let's start with meals.  For breakfast, lunch and dinner they have Chef Diego Plankesteiner and Su Chef Devid Piffer.  All meals were delicious and varied, a combination of Italian and Austrian cuisine, and included a rich salad bar, 3 entrees to choose from, 3 mains to choose from and dessert.  There was a very surprising dessert: melon soup with ricotta cheese in the center !!!  Many times I went to Chef Diego in the kitchen to thank him.  The wine menu is rich with excellent choices at perfectly fair prices. Every morning, the dinner menu is presented to guests, and a first and main course must be chosen.  In the evening, the meal is served, of course with toppings.  After a few minutes, Hugo comes out with the tray of toppings and offers if you want a refill.  Just like my mother ... The guest rooms are cleaned once a day ... as in any hotel.  But here the feeling is of thorough cleaning wholeheartedly and not to like a must. Hugo and Terry seem to be incredible people not only towards guests but also towards employees.  Chef Diego has been working for them for 14 years !!! One of the riding days was rainy.  The bikes returned to the hotel full of mud.  Hugo immediately helped us with the rinsing.  Up to here, a standard thing in every bike hotel.  But the shoes, shields and coats were also wet and full of mud.  Terry suggested we dry them in the laundry room.  She brought two huge tubs, one for shoes and the other for clothing.  She put on gloves and with a towel started wiping the mud from the shoes !!! It finally caught me. Of course we helped her and the next day everything was displayed in the lobby for us to take. Tonight, as we waited for the minibus  looking at the bright front of the hotel, I told him it was hard to leave the place that had served us as a home for a week. Thanks also to the staff of waitresses and maids Michaela, Ramona, Vali and Dana.

Ci sono stata varie volte con amici e famiglia e ci siamo sempre sentiti come a casa Si mangia benissimo , le camere sono accoglienti, il personale stupendo Ugo, Terry e Gioele sono fantastici padroni di casa, sanno dare ottimi consigli per escursioni

Hotel in una posizione splendida; molto accoglienti i proprietari e sempre disponibili a dare indicazioni sui sentieri. Pulizia, cura degli spazi e ottime cene completano il quadro di questo hotel.
